President Bush pitched his proposed cabinet-level of homeland security today to federal workers gathered at the DAR Constitution Hall in Washington today. Bush took the opportunity to thank federal workers for their hard work, especially after September 11th. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

No, I haven't seen anybody at all refute any of this. It's one thing to turn the other cheek, change the tone in Washington, etc., but it's political suicide to let these allegations go unanswered. Hopefully W has a plan.

I wanted to say the same thing, so I guess it gets said twice.

I love the part of verse 5 that says "Weeping endures for a night
But joy comes in the morning."

A good thing to remember on a bad news day.

Thanks for the Psalms.

It is time for the Republican party to get off their knees and start fighting. As much as I love the President there is no way in hell he will ever change the tone in Washington DC. Those low life liberals are not interested in changing any tone. They don't give a damn if they bring the entire nation down as long as they take Bush down. I can't stand liberals. I knew there was a reason I have never voted for one.

I can't stand Mary Matalin. Never liked her and certainly don't like her knowing she's married to Carville, the political hatchet man. How these people can live with themselves is something I cannot comprehend. And they think the CEOs are slimeballs. Criminy, it's the politicians and pundits who are the real slimeballs.

I hope Bush realizes the lengths these Democrats will go to destroy him. No one should ever underestimate how diabolical and vicious these people are. They want blood and total destruction of Bush.

I have not watched Cnn for some time and I will never turn that station on. I hope you are right. I would like to see them go out of business.

Yes, calm down. I too felt anxious all day and had to get back to the computer all day. I felt the way I did during the Florida recount.

You know, W has always said he deals with the deck that is handed him. And he has always placed his life in God's hands. He also is a good politician. I am sure the Harken stuff has been reviewed many times (1992, 1994, 1998 and 2000)by his team and they have to know how to defend. So I think they can. Dick Morris thinks that this won't hurt Bush but might hurt the 2002 elections. And say what you say about Dick Morris, I trust his judgment (except the one where he worked for Clinton).

I trust the President and the Vice president and truly believe that they have done no harm. Remember, August vacation comes and all the little dimbwits of the congress go home--so Bush will have the bully pulpit. And us of course.

We just got to persevere in our prayers and never let the devil take our dreams and thoughts away.

You have a lot of faith and insight -- I love what you wrote about God writing everything down, because of this verse: "Then they that feared the LORD spoke often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name." Malachi 3:16

We are staying a lot of problems for this country by standing with Israel.

Wow, that is such a wonderful statement I thought it bore repeating!

I thought of this when I read your post.....

I sat, as did millions of other Americans, and watched as our government underwent a peaceful transition of power. At first I felt a swell of pride and patriotism as I watched GWB take his oath of office.

However, all that pride vanished as I watched William Jefferson Clinton board Air Force One for the final time. I saw 21 US marines in full dress uniform, with rifles, fire a 21 gun salute to the outgoing president.

It was then that I realized how far America's military had deteriorated. Every last one of them missed.

I recieved an interesting email today from a freind who serves aboard the U.S.S. Carl Vinson

*******************

Mike, You really should be sitting down when you read this one.

Gold Star Mothers is an organization made up of women whose sons were killed in military combat during service in the United States armed forces. Recently a delegation of New York State Gold Star Mothers made a trip to Washington, DC, to discuss various concerns with their elected representatives. According to published reports, there was only one politician who refused to meet with these ladies.

Can you guess which politician that might be?

Was it New York Senator Charles Schumer? Nope, he met with them.

Try again.

Do you know anyone serving in the Senate who has never showed anything but contempt for our military?
Do you happen to know the name of any politician in Washington who's husband once wrote of his loathing for the military?

Now you're getting warm!

You got it!

None other than the Queen herself, Hillary Clinton. She refused repeated requests to meet with the Gold Star Mothers.
This woman wants to be president of the United States --- and there is a huge percentage of voters who are eager to help her achieve that goal. Sincerely, Cdr. Hamilton McWhorter USN (ret)

PS: Please forward this to as many people as you can. We don't want this woman to even think of running for President.

May you sleep in peace always...and please...hug or thank a Veteran for that privilege.

Now, think about this one !!! Don't forget, our girl, Hillary Rodham Clinton, as a New York Senator, now comes under this fancy Congressional Retirement and Staffing Plan. It's common knowledge that, in order for her to establish NYS residency, they purchased a million+ dollar house in upscale Chappaqua, NY. Makes sense.

Now, they are entitled to Secret Service protection for life. Still makes sense.
Here is where it becomes interesting. The mortgage payments hover at about $10,000 per month. BUT, an extra residency had to be built within the acreage in order to house the Secret Service agents. The Clinton's now charge the Secret Service $10,000 monthly rent for the use of said Secret Service residence and that rent is just about equal to their mortgage payment, meaning that we, the tax payers, are paying the Clinton's mortgage, their transportation, their safety and security, their 12 man staff, and it's all perfectly legal.

How many people can you send this to?

The Oval Office is so beautiful now that decency dwells and has been redecorated from Early Bordello to Complete Class.

Dick Morris thinks that this won't hurt Bush but might hurt the 2002 elections.

Exactly. They will do anything to gain control of both houses of Congress. They will take their lies and innuendo to the House and Senate races and imply by extension that any candidate endorsed by the President is no friend of the average American, is tied to big business and crooked.
