Christian Prophecies And Zionist Dreams
BIET SHEMESH, Israel, July 12, 2002

Of the millions of immigrants who have have arrived in Israel, many have come with remarkable - and often tragic - stories.

But few have arrived with a stranger tale than the Frankels of Passiac, New Jersey, and the more than three hundred other American Jews they traveled with.

Their move was funded not by a Zionist organization, but by American evangelical Christians.

"We have hundreds of thousands of Christian donors, from children who are 10 years old who are saving their baby sitting money to churches that have teas and car washes," said Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein of the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews.

The Frankels received about $20,000. Financing the whole planeload took $2 million. The immigrants' motivation is clear.

"We feel that it's just the place where we belong," said Baruch Frankel.

But the motivation of congregations like the First Pentecostal Tabernacle Church in Elkton, Maryland, where the money comes from, is completely different.

Here churchgoers believe the biblical prophecies that the Jews' return to Israel will proceed the arrival of the Messiah - in other words - the second coming of Christ.

"The scriptures are being fulfilled before my very eyes," said Bishop Huey Harris.

In fact, evangelical Christian support - much of it from the religious right of the Republican party - is seen as the basis for President Bush's backing of Israel in its fight against Palestinian terrorism.

"The fact that President Bush made the kind of speech that he did a few weeks ago in support of Israel's position could not have happened if he were not himself a bible believing deep convicted Christian," said Eckstein.

It's an unlikely alliance forged on a heady cocktail of ancient biblical beliefs and modern expedient politics. The predictions of the prophets and the war on terror forming new lives in the Judean Hills.

Bringing the Frankels to Israel has taken something of a modern political miracle.

It would be nice if more Jews gave money.

Very heartening, to be sure.

Though I'd hope for such Jewish aliyah more for the sake of Genesis' reminder that who blesses Israel will be blessed, rather than for the sake of a more immediate messianic expectation...bearing in mind too, the old rabbinic saw that, 'If you are planting a tree when you hear of Moshiach's arrival, first finish its planting, and then go greet him.'

>... Genesis' reminder that who blesses Israel will be blessed,...

I certainly agree, and hope the American evangelical Christians will someday better understand that THEY are part of that Israel which will be blessed, for they are genetic cousins of the Jews who they are sponsoring. The Christians are mostly from the old Northern Kingdom, and the Jews are from the old Southern Kingdom, and ALL received Abrahams blessing and promises. (See my Profile page.)

The push by U.S. evangelicals to return Israel to its Biblical borders and to smite the infidels in a modern version of the Crusades has brought a religious war to our shores. Such wars are particularly troubling, in that they do not end when logic and economics dictate that they should.

Yes, by logic the Jews and their language should have been dead and forgotten these thousands of years. Like the Vikings are dead, the Pharoahs, and the ancient Greeks...

Bush has since called for a Palestinian state within Israel's borders.  That is NOT supporting Israel; it is supporting Israel's enemies.  His actions (fruit) do not make him "a bible believing deep convicted Christian."  Water is more stable than this!

Mt 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Jas 1:8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

>Like the Vikings are dead

I checked the mirror this morning, and we are certainly not dead. The Viking movement has come and gone and but Viking genes go on.

That is no different than the Northern Kingdom of Israel. They became the Lost Tribes of Israel but the genes were not lost. They also live on, as Vikings, and many others...

Bush is either for or against a Palistinian state inside YESHA. To call it a Pali terror state is most certainly redundant. Speeches about reforms are merely attempts to convince Americans to eat Halloween candy imbedded with razor blades. While one group sees Bush craftily making so many demands, that a Pali state will never exist, another wonders how long it will be before a) the demands are supposedly met, b) a Pali state is set up in the Holy Land, c) the usual suspects cry 'peace, peace' when there is no peace, and d) the Pali state abomination causes desolation.

Pali state in Yesha = covenant with death and agreement* with hell, YESHAyahu 28

While Bush sows a Palestinian abomination in the heart of Israel, down deep in the heart of Texas they are still mopping up after the flood.

Naaaaaa....it hasn't. Don't you worry. The evangelicals, of which I am one, knew all along that we're commanded to help Israel. ("I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you"....Genesis). If you need to place blame, God said it first.

Yup. Hey, you really see Vikings? ... Here come the Berzerkers, speaking Gaelic, worshipping Wodin and still seeking weregeld! And the Scots still building towers to ward them off, I suppose. Watchout for them horns, Brunhilde...see ya in Valhalla after the gotterdamerung.

Like Jews still fight the Philistines (Palestinians), speak Hebrew, worship Jehovah, follow the Torah/Talmud, and walk the same paths as David before them.

Bin Laden did not attack us over Israel. He wants us out of the Middle East, in particular from Saudi Arabia.
The religius wars byy the Islamists started a while ago. They have been hitting Europe on its periphery. It was only a matter of time for us to get hit.

Regarding your Post # 14...

Your Scriptural, Biblical and Historical Ignorance is showing in your post.

So...Let's get a few Historical/Biblical things straight OK:

The Philistines mentioned in The Holy Bible were of GREEK origin, these so-called Giants and Enemy of Adonai's People, were NOT: Semantic nor were they Arabs.

There is NO Historical group, culture, peoples called:

"Palestinian"...these so-called "Palestinians" are a very MODERN, recent compilation of different Arabs and Nomads from many Arab Countries/States.

Today's so -called "Palestinians" are a MYTH, a FABRICATION of Arafat's lofty Plans to Destroy Israel, Annihilate ALL JEWS, and begin the set up of: "ARAFATISTAN".

These Nomads have NO History, NO Language, and ABSOLUTELY NO Right to any claim of LAND in GOD'S Holy LAND OF ISRAEL.

ISLAM or Mohammadism was created by a Morally Corrupted, Evil, Drug Addicted, Pedophile...Demoniac named: Mohammed. He slithered on this earth until he died and went to his just reward....HELL in the year 736 AD.

This Evil Cult often named the "religion" of Peace and Love by ignorant mouthpieces...has effectively Destroyed Everything It Touches...Everything!

The Jewish People are Adonai's Chosen, the Apple Of HIS Eye.

We Do NOT Worship..."Jehovah" this is a word of Anglo-Saxon origin, "Jehovah" is Not a HEBREW word.

You will NEVER find the word "Jehovah" in The Original Manuscripts of The Hebrew Torah.

We have and will continue to Worship, Praise and Fellowship with: EL SHADDAI...The ALL SUFFICIENT HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL.

Blessed Be HIS Holy and Righteous NAME, Amen & Amen.

Now, it is the Christians who are responsible for the 9/11 attacks and the threat of future attacks. Way to go, fellow.

Jehovah may or may not be Hebrew--likely it is an anglicized version of a Hebrew word, like Joshua is Yeshua, also Jesus. Since there's no "J" at all, lots of prophets are left without their consonant. Seems a small point to get so hot about.

When David was fighting the Philistines, he was battling the pagans who hated the Jews. The word is corrupted into "Palestine"--it really is not of much interest the actual genetic descent of the Philistines, Greek or Semitic or Canannite, because the Jews have had many enemies just like them. Arafat is a Philistine in my book. You might check out the multiple definitions of the term. It also means "uncivilized."

If it's necessary to be cognizant of the original texts of the Torah to notice that Jews are still speaking Hebrew in Jerusalem, that they're still fighting an enemy that looks a lot like the enemies of old, who worship theGod of Abraham, you've cut out a lot of allies. It's a rare Christian indeed who bothers with Aramaic.
