It had of late become a fad to masquerade as a Republican like Sen. Jeffords, Chafee, Snowe, and former NJ Governor Christine Whitman, but NYC's Mayor Bloomberg and apparently as in this case with candidate Perry, have kicked the monicker "RINO" up a few more notches...
Voters are now having to choose between a weasel or a snake. The "Republican" Party is amidst of being ideologically hijacked.

The same thing worries me. It is difficult to predict turnout among the grassroots, but right now they are not delighted to vote for Perry.

What do you expect from someone who supported Al Gore for President in 1988?

Running on repealing the minimum wage should be a winner. By overhauling the tax system, do you mean having Texas adopt an income tax?

Personally, I mean repealling income tax on a national level and seriously reforming property taxes in the state. As for a state income tax, Perry's certainly not doing much to make the fight against one easy for us. His big spending tendencies have pushed state spending over the budget line, inciting the Dems to renew their calls for one.

I will say that Bush is nowhere near as conservative as I would like him to be. He does approach Perry on some of his issues, but Perry's run to the left has surpassed Bush in several key cases. Bush never supported Hate Crimes and never appointed his liberal democrat cronies as Secretary of State. Perry has done both.

If that is the case, then why are you mad at me? You should be mad at Rick Perry as he's the one shunning the Republican Party, is he not?
