This is exactly the kind of crap we have come to expect from RINOs. I wish Mr. Behnke the best of luck in his principled fight to oust openly homosexual left of center Rep Jim Kolbe from Congress and replace him with principled conservative leadership.

So it doesn't bother you that Smith crawled on his ample belly back to the Republican party to get John Chafee's committee chairmanship before his body was cold?

Not in the slightest. It was in the best interests of the conservative cause that the foremost conservative in the Senate be a full committee chairman. You forget that the only reason that he defected from the GOP was because the Republican Party had become too liberal for him. I am glad he came back to the GOP because America needs principled leadership in the Senate that only he and a couple other incumbent conservative GOP senators can provide.

I don't know what "Conservative Index" you're referencing, but John Sununu is rated at 94% on the American Conservative Union website. That's a higher lifetime rating than Bob Smith has.

The ACU is a much discredited party hack barometer that does nothing more than measure party loyalty and how many times a Congressman voted with his party's leadership, regardless of whether the leadership voted for the Clinton budget or other liberal pet projects. It does not really measure conservatism. The New American magazine's Conservative Index is by far the most reliable measure of conservatism and it rated Sununu at a pathetic 40% which means he voted the liberal line 60% of the time--a record well to the left of the average House Republican. Smith on the other hand has regularly scored in the 90-100% conservative range for almost every session although on the last session he was only rated in the top three conservatives for the Senate. Plus, Sununu is pro-Palestinian, has accepted money from Islamic terrorists whom he supports, and supports amensty for millions more illegal immigrants. In short, his record on national security and border control is damn near scandalous whereas Smith's record is 100% pro-national security/pro-border control, pro-America!

I'm shocked. You cited New American and sinkspur didn't go into a foam-at-the-mouth lying diatribe against the JBS. Maybe he's growing up some?

No. The only reason he defected is because his defective radar sensed some groundswell for Bob Smith for President as an Independent. That, of course, fell flat on its ass, but he didn't have the honesty to say so. No, he blamed his flameout on some illness suddenly contracted by his wife.

The New American magazine's Conservative Index is by far the most reliable measure of conservatism and it rated Sununu at a pathetic 40% which means he voted the liberal line 60% of the time--a record well to the left of the average House Republican.

According to THE NEW AMERICAN, Jesse Helms is a liberal because he voted to free up money for AIDS!

The John Birch Society is not a serious player in mainstream conservative politics, and hasn't been for over a generation.

The all violate Reagans 11th commandment. The RINO's are afraid of the press and rely on polls. If a conservative gets in, they will have to support him and answer questions regarding conservative issues while they are either running or in office--and they do not want to do that. They would rather elect a Democrat so they can scream from the inside instead of tackling the real issues: life, guns, cutting govt., cutting taxes, vouchers, traditional marriages and adoptions, etc.

I remember speaking to a republican assembly candidate and he told me that he never brings up the gun or life issue while campaigning, THEY ARE AFRAID and after what I saw during the schundler election, are not worthy of my vote in 2003.

Some members of the Pubs are constrained by principles - that annoys the other Pubs. Some Pubs told Nixon "You've got to go - we won't support you if it comes to a trial." Versus the Evil Party vote to save the toxic hide of X42.

Guess again.

The JBS is the conservative movement's Jehovah's Witnesses.

How is Smith's vehement opposition to drilling in ANWAR pro-America?

I just returned from Alaska, and, while I didn't see the ANWAR property, the state is a beautiful wasteland.

Didn't the JBS once call Ronald Reagan a communist?

Back in the '60s and '70s, when the JBS could send a chill up the back of every Area 51 paranoid, labeling your next door neighbor a "communist" was its specialty.

Reagan had arrived when the NEW AMERICAN held his Hollywood past against him, even while he was running for president.

And right on time....Bush-Bot Sinkspur comes along to bash a Conservative that isn't on the GW approved list....

Hey, Sink...I don't teach you YOUR local politics....I live in NH, and I KNOW Sununu Jr. Smith is by FAR the better candidate....at least he isn't taking donations from the ENEMY, like Sununu Jr. is.

Are you linked thru the FBI's Carnivore...you pop up whenever there is a need to defend GW...even when it's buried in a thread.

Maybe you and _Jim have something in common....

Fine. You vote for Smith, although he is likely to lose in the primary.

Should he win the primary, he will lose to Shaheen.

If you believed the Smith soap opera in 2000, then I'm not surprised at your defense of this stealth opportunist.

LIES!!! Obviously you know precisely jack squat about the New American magazine and have never read it. According to the New American magazine, Jesse Helms ranked as the top conservative in the Senate during the past session. According to the New American, Only Senator Bob Smith has consistently outpeformed Jesse Helms in his consistent and unwavering support for conservative principles. Helms has long been a New American/JBS fave and the scourage of RINOs that run the gammet from McCain to Sununu to YOU!

Smith has been wrong on only one single issue--ANWAR and he has been hard right conservative on every other issue whereaas Sununu was either missing in action or on the leftward side of the issue. But then again I strongly suspect you know that and are just trying to carry out your SMERCH campaign against conservatives in furtherance of the RINO agenda to complete the very liberal takeover of the Grand Old Party which was the rationale for conservative hero Senator Smith's brief defection. Frankly, ANWAR doesn't do anything for me. It is not even on most conservative's radar screen whereas Sununu's consistent support for increased illegal immigration and support of Palestinian and other Islamicist terrorist groups IS.

Thanks for your voice of support. But if Kolbe and is $1.6 million campaign warchest are going to be defeated, Jim Behnke is going to need donations from all over the country. See what you can give and go to www.behnkeforcongress.com and click on the Donation link to donate online using your credit card. Behnke is purely grassroots and needs all the help he can get. Thanks.

No the JBS never called Ronald Reagan a Communist. They just said he was the victim of bad CFR leftist advisors that morphed his conservative policies in many areas into something completely different which is absolutely true.

What’s worse, Parsky has stated that he will sit out the election even though Bill Simon is leading California’s vulnerable Governor Gray Davis by as much as nine percentage points ...

What a jerk.

Regardless, those of us who are pro-life support Republicans who disagree with us on that one issue, but, sadly, to some pro-choicers, it doesn't seem to cut the other way.

There is this WISH list group that supports female "pro-choice" Republican candidates; and to them, pro-choice means NO restrictions on abortion; not parental consent, not INFORMED choice. It's disgraceful.

I hear a lot of "pro-choice" Republican women in AZ threatening to vote for Janet NapoliReno for Gov if Matt Salmon wins the primary!!!
