hoosier, I am a dog show handler and yes dogs do lift their legs to mark territory especially if there is a female in season around. But they also lift their legs strickly to pee!!!!! Barney would not be marking territory on a Democrat, he is a Republican doggie.

Kath, I should ask one more question then. Do dogs ever lift their legs as an insult or a put down? I still think Barney's pee is too good for a Democrat though. As you say, he is a Republican doggie.
