I don't necessary agree with shooting someone for trying to steal your stereo, but what I do abhor is the fact that if you see someone in your car trying to steal your stereo, you can't take a handgun and a cell phone and go out there and aprehend him. Owning weapons in NYC is practically verboten (unless your rich or a celebrity)

I dunno. I certainly wouldn't want to work and work and work and have someone just take my shit. I like Colorodo's make my day law.

One of the premises I have seen arguing against shooting someone over a stereo is the stereo is only worth $200, and therefore is not worth a human life. However, consider the fact that the owner of the stereo had to invest a portion of his life to earn the money for the stereo, and therefore, the thief was stealing a portion of the owners life.

I hope everyone remembers this is you ever find yourself on a jury in a case like this. You have to find the man totally innocent of all charges and not allow the judge to get a crack at him. As a citizen I refuse to play by their rules and instructions of guilt or innocence when their rules are unjust. Evidently alot of other people feel the same way, thus the attempt to over rule and do away with jury trials.

Agreed. Being a juror, is the most powerful position in america,we can overrule the legislature, the judges, the president, the governor, the police, etc. Never try to avoid jury duty, and used jury nullification, it is something the founding fathers wanted us to have as a last resort.
