KYBURZ, Calif. (AP) - The U.S. Forest Service told one of its tenants that his 20-foot flagpole is unauthorized and has to go.
David Knickerbocker has flown the American flag on the pole next to his summer cabin in the Sierra Nevada for almost two decades. He leases a quarter-acre lot in the El Dorado National Forest.

This probably has less to do with Native American artifacts and more to do with the liberals in the Forestry Service feeling repulsed at expressions of patriotism.

During the Clinton years, the federal bureaucracy was filled up with 'rat leftist activists. This sort of thing is the consequence.

Let me make a wild guess here, if this guy wanted to chain himself to a tree to protest "logging", well, that'd be OK, and the Forrest Service would help him any way they can.
I was at a national park recently and in the parking-lot soliciting funds there were two environmental groups. I think these federal organizations still have too many Clintonistas in them!!

"If you're putting holes in the ground where Native Americans once resided, that needs an archaeological review," They used to reside where I live. Do my kids need an archeological review before they dig in their sandbox?

Well I guess he'll have to get a D9 Dozer and remove the pole ! Or he could wait till the Federal Tree Cops burn it down for him in their next quest for overtime pay..........Insanity is here to stay.
Stay Safe !

My guess would be there is no law against any non-profits soliciting for funds in the parking lots of our national parks, just that the Red Cross and American Lung Association fund raisers don't personally live in tents and climb rocks for a living.

I wonder what they think about bird feeders, mail boxes, Japanese Beetle traps, garden stakes (and gardens for that matter). Not to mention street signs etc. etc.
It does sound like more than ordinary stupidity.

Where is this really from - - Blue Brick? The Onion?

What do you suppose they think of what he does with his bodily waste; wouldn't that go into a hole in the ground where Indians are buried? Wait, you're right. A flag is more offensive.

I'll bet dinner that if this can be traced back to the origin, it has something to do with the UN.

"If you're putting holes in the ground where Native Americans once resided, that needs an archaeological review," Forest Service spokesman Frank Mosbacher said. There are no "native" Americans (not in the PC sense anyway), since even the "native" Americans (American Indians) immigrated to this continent long ago. They are only "earlier immigrant Americans."
On the other hand, what if the "native" Americans in question were Kennewick men? I'm sure that in that case the Kennewick men would've approved of the flagpoles on their land!

and it's gone unnoticed until now?
The stupidity never ends.

If you're putting holes in the ground your head where Native Americans common sense once resided, that needs an archaeological review come see me I'll tell you what to do. Yours sincerely, BIG TWIT

My gawd! I've dug small holes and cr*pped in 'em all over the West in my years. I wonder whose ancestor I was dumping on. No worry, move along and get your 'dumping permit' for a mere $100.
