July 22, 2002 -- TOP-SECRET polling has convinced key Democrats that Gov. Pataki can't be beaten in the November election by either Carl McCall or Andrew Cuomo, The Post has learned.
The polls, now circulating at the highest levels of state and national Democratic Party politics, found Pataki leading both potential Democratic opponents by more than 30 percentage points in bellwether suburban counties.

The Post has something of a reputation for sensationalism. Does anybody in NY know how they've done for accuracy on similar "scoops?"
I'm not a fan of Pataki's at all, so as it stands today I'll be voting for Tom Golisano, the Independent candidate. Voting for Pataki was palatable when trying to remove "molto Mario", but now the equation has changed and he governs much, too much like a liberal for my taste.
