Why the Democrats Can't Get Their Act Together
by Bruce F. Cole
Excerpt:
....And speaking of weird bedfellows, some of the Left's heavy lifting has just been performed by - are we sitting down? - Bill Buckley's National Review. In a balanced, well researched and concise July 16 expose [to see this expose, click "McAuliffe's Shady Business Past"], Byron York discloses yet another Terry McAuliffe business deal that smells as bad as anything stinking up the Potomac these days.
Just before the Global Crossing story broke - which highlighted the DNC Chair as a fast and loose dealer - (and during the 9/11 confusion late last year), the IBEW was found by the Labor Department to have mishandled millions in electricians' pension funds in a Florida real estate partnership with McAuliffe. Two union officials were fined over $100,000 and $5 million was ordered to be reimbursed to the pension fund. McAuliffe slickly parlayed an initial investment of $100 into $2,450,000 working capital, courtesy of his union pals. ...the DNC Chair walked away unfazed, onto the next big deal at Global Crossing.
The official DNC response? "Terry McAuliffe isn't president of the United States," as if corruption and hypocrisy doesn't matter when you run a major political party. As if it ever doesn't matter.
The policies, morals and tactics of the "New" Democrats and the conservative DLC have failed the party and the country.... McAuliffe should resign, and Real Democrats should demand it. His presence at the party helm is an embarrassment and a liability. (A good candidate for his replacement would be the man he beat last year for the post, Atlanta's Maynard Jackson). Then, any Democrat with any conscience and guts left should call loud and hard for a National Clean Elections Law, right now..... Get your act together, Democrats.

Mr. Cole, I agree with what you said about Terry McAuliffe; he is a national embarassment and who knows what else. Frankly, I turn the tv on mute whenever I see him on, blabbering away, about nothing whatsoever.

I am still waiting for the late night infomercial where Terry McAuliffe explains to the nation's teachers how to parley a $100,000 nest egg into an $18 million mega bucks profit.

Terry McAuliffe helps the GOP by constantly leading people away from the Dem Party. I am a former Dem, now an independent, and I see Terry McAuliffe and have no idea what any voter sees in his brand of "leadership."

Gee, this might be an even more interesting infomercial for teachers seeking to increase their financial net worth, as mentioned in this article and explained in the National Review link:
"McAuliffe slickly parlayed an initial investment of $100 into $2,450,000 working capital, courtesy of his union pals."
Will the FL Teachers Union legally help me and all FL teachers to do this? I have $100. If such financial help is available, I may just rejoin.

Have you seen any Republicans blasting him over these felonies? Heck no. Ever wonder why that is? Ever wonder why Jessie Jackson hasn't had the IRS pay a visit or two?

It isn't a smelly business deal, there is no business to it. Terry is a bag man. You want to bribe a specific Democrat Congressman? Work it out directly, including price, then pay Terry. He'll keep a cut and then pass on the rest in a manner that looks legitimate. It will either be a reduced rate loan (real estate, etc.) that will eventually be written off or marked as paid or a "contribution" from the DNC or some other political purse that Terry controls. The receipts will all look reasonable as will the disbursements. It will take an informant to surface the truth.

imho the dim-crats can not come up with an honest person to run in any race.they have stolen from the taxpayer or they have been convicted of some crime or just out an out crooks and they hold thier misdeeds as a badge of honor and they lie looking you in the face.i e clinton, daschle, gepthart, sen clinton,[mccain rino]you name them most are the same.

Just like the Clintons, I can't stand to watch McAwful's leering face on TV. He and the Clintons should be shipped to an island where they will then be nuked.

The democrat party ought to be renamed the GRIFTER PARTY

Re your post #15 - I remember him on Hannity and Colmes, being asked by Hannity to explain exactly how he made an $18 million dollar profit from his $100K investment, and all McAuliffe could say was : "Hey! This is America! This is capitalism!" I was not impressed.
