Occidental Petroleum Corporation. The principal activity of the Group is to explore, develop, produce and market crude oil and natural gas. The Group operates in two segments namely Oil and gas operations and Chemical operations. Oil and gas segment develops, explores, produces and markets crude oil and natural gas. This segment serves United States, Colombia, Ecuador, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Russia, Yemen, Albania and Peru markets. Chemical segment manufactures and markets basic chemicals, ethylene dichloride, vinyl, petrochemicals and performance chemicals. Basic chemicals include inorganic chemicals primarily consisting of chlorine, caustic soda and their derivatives. Oil and gas accounted for 78% of 2001 revenues and chemicals, 22%.
