Merits of this piece aside, I wonder if American Airlines really has a pilot named John Maniscalco. IMHO the attribution is bogus.

Here is what google turns up for "John Maniscalco" + American + Airlines.

I wondered about this too, but the fact that Google has very little on him besides what has been posted here proves little. If I put my name in I get nothing, yet I know I'm me. There just are no refernces to me on the 'net.

For the record, Google is not the end-all, although I use their search engine, myself. That said, skeptics listen up...in this case, Google did not search far enough.

And while I'm here, I just would like to know why it seems that everything posted at FR lately, has to be so disected? IMO it's getting to be ridiculous! For crying out loud, I would just like to hang out among Patriots who have a little sense about them. Who *really* cares whether the author of this article is a commercial pilot or not? Aren't there world events a little more serious to be concerned with? The intent of the posting member, I'm sure, was to share with us the content of an article, not to dispatch an investigation into the legitimacy of the author's employment.

And so, in my opinion, I thank JohnHuang2 for sharing his find with us. And now, here's my opinion on the content of the article... I totally agree with Capt. M... Our world is several degrees off from where it was a year ago. I don't like traitors among us, no matter whom they might look like. And if their facial features and skin color happens to match anyone on the poster of the flying terrorists, I'm sorry, right now, I'd feel much better using the guilty until proven innocent philosophy.

Worldnetdaily is a pretty credible source, and this would be something pretty easy to check (for them). I doubt they would print this if it didn't exist.

Here is what google turns up for "John Maniscalco" + American + Airlines.

So? If you did a search for my first name, last name, and the company I work for you wouldn't turn up anything via Google directly relating me to the company I work for either.

Doesn't mean what the author wrote is (a)fake or (b) he doesn't work for American Airlines. But I'd agree with a basic premise statement that said something like "since we can't link this guy directly to American Airlines, the reader(s) may want to take this with a grain of salt.."

If that's what you're trying to say, cool.
