I don't know anything about the National Guard. Is this a big deal?
To: HarryDunne
Is this a big deal? Not yet. Wait about 3 months. Things will get interesting then.

Trial runs for the potential outbreak of WW3???
Tinfoil or not, the sub ride, with control codes is ominous... but perhaps all Cheney wanted to do was some really custom sport fishing from the sail of a trident???
It's full moon right now. . . we should be okay . . . right?

This isn't an announcement of mobilization, it's a running tally of who is mobilized at any given time. The title stays the same every month, the numbers change up or down depending on the branch of service. This one shows a net decrease in active reserverists.

The United Nations Wants America's Armed Forces! Are you concerned...
...that American blood and taxes are being used for military operations unrelated to U.S. defense?
Are you concerned...
...that our own government is committed to making the UN more powerful than any nation on Earth?
Are you concerned...
...that the UN is being given control of our military?
Are you concerned...
...that U.S. military personnel are being prepared to become United Nations soldiers?

At one time I wondered what it was like living in the time just before WWII. Life goes on as normal, but there are signs of the coming war. How did people deal with it?
I belive we are now in that stage. Will the coming war against Iraq be like the Gulf War,over almost as soon as it begins, or will it turn into something major, like WWIII?
Will the other Arab nations come to the defense of Iraq? There are many reason why they shouldn't, but is Islam a strong enough reason to put their difference aside?
Will the fifth column that has already infiltrated most nations of the west be activated, and will we find our self in a real war on our own soil?
It is said that the Chinese have an curse, "may you live in interesting times." Well these are certainly interesting times.

WWIII.........and the question in my mind is will the Euros side with the Arabs? I think so. I think the US and Israel will be attacked by the federation formed against us. They are lining up as we speak.

Yes when it first came out. I was thinking more how Americans were dealing with the threat of war.
To: brat
Interesting point. If they do, they are doomed, if not by us, then certainly their new "allies" the Arabs, because if we are ever out of the picture, Arabs, and their growing population and religion would take over.
But I disagree, I think the European would in the end support us.

"I was thinking more how Americans were dealing with the threat of war." Well so was I, which was why I asked the question.
The answer to your question above is "the same way".
Americans are "dealing with the threat of war" the same way Germans did in the time leading up to World War Two. They're dealing with it by immersing their sensory inputs past the overload point, and using that process to keep the denial engines running flat out.
Life is a cabaret.
