The clash between business, defended mainly by Republicans, and trial lawyers defended by Democrats is an ongoing drama little covered by the media.

Great post. This should be a HUGE issue, what with the RATS blaming the stock market collapse on Repub's ties to business. Nowhere is it mentioned that many companies are struggling under massive lawsuits (Halliburton).

My bad... I posted the same article about 10 minutes after you... it offers sound advice to Republicans though.

I am absolutely astounded to read such an accurate column by Morton Kondracke. I wonder if some life experience has changed his attitude during the past 15 years?

I assume the column was written recently, yet Kondracke fails to mention that the legislation currently making its way to the President's desk concerning penalties for corporate malfeasance (Sarbane's Bill) are so vague as to invite massive litigation.

If only one could buy stock in lawyers, the current signal would be BUY, BUY, BUY!!!
