This design has gotten into the running. Please VOTE! Sorry, but that's a little misleading. This design is not in the running. I have just spent the past ten minutes reviewing his press releases as well as those of the Lower Manhattan Development Corp and renewnyc, so I know this is the case. The designer merely hopes it will GET into the running with enough "public support".
The Lower Manhattan Development Corporation will review the results of this poll more seriously than ever before.
If they reviewed the results of his online poll with 0% seriousness before, well..."more seriously" is relative.

A 21st C version of the Chrysler Building would look good downtown;no doubt, Helmut Jahn or Norman Foster could design something spectacular that would be more appropriate to Manhattan than say Hong Kong or Shanghai.NYC needs that becon to impact the skyline and I just wish the bureaucratic impulse to homogonize could be removed from this whole redevelopment.

As I have said before, I am definitely no expert or even a novice in architecture designs.
I just believe that the 6 designs that have gotten media coverage is just wrong. WIMPY!
