Huh?
To: kneezles
Kneezles, It doese not matter how long or short a service is. It's what's in the hearts and souls of the people who attend it. Being a Catholic, our Masses last about an hour, But our services can be quite beautiful. I'm a lector, I say the readings. While the priest reads the Gospel. Have yopu ever been to a Catholic service? We have the spirit with us every day. not just on Sundays.

"I think that a service that is moved along by the Holy Spirit is so much more genuine than one that is programmed" Once you've experienced it, there is no going back to other kinds.
You learn the true meaning of "He inhabits our praises!"

Just got off the phone with my Mother's first cousin, a WWII Army Vet. They live in Joppa MD near Baltimore. Mrs cousin is also a cousin of some kind and used to baby sit me in VA.

I understand C-Soozie, I was a Lector, Lay Eucharistic Minister, Chalace Bearer in the Episcopal Church for 25 years. I find no fault with their services nor do I with any other church. What I don't like is someone coming in here talking about not liking watching fat women dance at church. That's not what any church is about at all. It's like you said...it's what is in the heart that counts.
To: kneezles
I was a little offended by that, Too. I understand what you're saying.

I think that a service that is moved along by the Holy Spirit is so much more genuine than one that is programmed That seems a bit jazzy. By the way, I never bought that explanation of the "Greatful Dead" either. Just me .... but I preferred all bandmembers not only playing in the same key - but also playing the same song mentally in the same city. All "day" things just hit an EST/Forum mojo for me. "SOMEBODY EPHENIZE ALREADY, GADDUMMIT" I never got very far in those organizations because I'd step up immediately and ask if Werner Erhardt, as I'd heard, was really the anti-Christ in the body of Vanilla Ice. Oooof. The exit opened for ME! Everyone else was still part of the "Up up with people, we lock 'em in rooms till they break" tour.
Kidding around ... yeah, that's what religion is all about? GULP! Best regards - my ride is late.

I understand what you're saying.Thank you C-Soozie, I just didn't want you to think that i was showing disrespect for ANY church. I cannot judge any church nor anybody, there is only one that can do that. I have been to many Catholic Masses and am friends with a retired Catholic Priest. He's such a hoot and a good man.
To: kneezles
Thank You. Now can i come to Ft. Worth?

I would never denigrate anyone's religion or preference of service; I'm not good enough to cast any stones.
I'm Baptist by choice, but I really get tired of thirty minute butts!
Seems like just when I'm getting into the Spirit of the service, it's over!
Heck, if we go to all the trouble to get dressed for church and drive through the traffic to get there, why are we watching the clock for the time to go home?
I remember the old camp meetin' style services of my youth that went on all day with people hugging and crying and singing praises to the Lord!
THAT'S my kind of worship!!
