I had a Smoothy made of strawberries and various other fruits at Whole Foods recently. It was horrible. It tasted like there was some powdery additive that ruined the taste. What was that terrible tasting powder?

At one supermarket I shop at that has an organic produce section: organically grown nectarines - 3.99 a pound . I was just in this same store today... I was wrong... the organic nectarines are 4.98 a pound. (Methinks they can go suck my organic swizzle stick!)

I don't worry about pesticides, but the Apples in the grocery store are all mealy and mushy these days. Seems they went to uniformity of product. What I like is a crisp, ice cold apple with good flavor, I don't care too much what it looks like. The 'macintosh' has been ruined, near as I can tell. Green Apples are crisp and tart, but it ain't the same thing.
