Instead of letting the Dems blame them, they should have been out front saying that all these scandals happened on Clinton/Gore's watch & now the Republican administration of morals & values needs to step in and clean up the mess.

I think "thinking Americans" are a small minority, and Bush's popularity is founded more on terrorism fears than any rational thought process. The republicans better get it together and get out there in front of the cameras...because those numbers can fade in the twinkling of an eye.
