I don't listen to Rush Limbaugh very much, but it's apparent that Levin has an influence on Rush's thoughts and comments. Rush has a bigger market share than any single person in the media.
It's still a minority, for certain, but I think that, indirectly, more of this gets out there than we appreciate.

Wonder if the Dems will get it! They will. And then they will spin it to their advantage. They will purposely ignore the sarcasm and treat it as if it were sincere.
Remember, you're talking about the same bunch of people who take the phrase "insufficient evidence to prosecute" to mean "totally exonerated."

All Rubin did was place two phone calls to the Treasury Department and Moody's, an independent credit-rating agency, in an attempt to elicit support for propping up Enron's credit rating, which would have bought time for Rubin's company, Citigroup, to dump its bad Enron debt on unsuspecting investors. I also didn't take into account Rubin's extremely busy schedule. He's chairman of Citigroup's executive committee, an adviser to Sen. Tom Daschle on economic matters, writes op-eds urging President Bush to raise taxes, and for all I know he may well be shuttling between Beijing and Little Rock raising money for the Clinton library.
And it's obvious that Carl Levin is busy, too. He held hearings on July 23 and yesterday looking into the role of financial institutions in the Enron debacle. He called a total of 17 witnesses, four of whom were from Citigroup. It makes complete sense that Levin overlooked including Rubin in this gaggle. After all, Rome wasn't built in a day.
Now that I've apologized to Lieberman, perhaps I should rethink my criticism of Terry McAuliffe and the 18,000 percent profit he received from Global Crossing.
THATS RIGHT MARK.. FEEL THE LOVE, LET IT ALL GO.
AFTER ALL.. ITS JUST THAT DAMN RIGHT WING CONSPIRACY CONSPIRING TO DEFAME GOOD PEOPLE!! (I mean the Senators and Former Sec. of Treasure Rubin, not the innocent VICTIMS of their deceit)
We must have our priorities and it's best you become one of the good ole' boys. I'm glad to see you're finally getting it!!! Alls forgiven, I'm sure!!
Dang, I LOVE Mark Levine. But DON'T tell my husband!! (Ok, I confess,.. we both love him.. he's the MAN!! :o)

There will be no action on Toricelli until AFTER the election. If they want to nail him then, the Governor can appoint another dem for SIX years to replace him.

Toricelli will never be replaced. The Senate will never prosecute him. They have simply told him he is very naughty boy (a reprimand) and now they're moooooving on.
To get thrown out Toricelli would have to take a sack full of cash live on CNN from a bearded man dressed in a cloak whispering in farsi, "Here is your monthly bribe, Senator. Allah be praised." And then maybe action would be taken.
Sorry, I'm feeling a bit cynical today.

"Sorry, I'm feeling a bit cynical today."
Don't be sorry. I agree with you. I suspect that any action taken against Toricelli would only happen if the dems STILL need to sacrifice one of their own in order to appease the voters. They chose Traficant for that role because he sometimes voted with the Republicans.
Toricelli claims to have returned illegal contributions, but has never produced the cancelled checks. The dems will let it slide.

Excellent points. Traficant clearly dug his own grave. However, did someone else help him into it? Clearly he held opinions and beliefs well outside of the "safe" actions of his colleagues when it came to scandal.
To: wcdukenfield
Was it $44 billion that Rubin engineered ostensibly to bail out Mexico which really went to fat cat investers in New York banks? Rememeber the expression "too big to fail?"
To: wcdukenfield
Is is my imagination or is Mark Levin being a bit sarcastic?
He doesn't sound very sorry to me.
Perhaps Lieberman will accept his apology anyway. LOL

Those who have studied contemporary philosophy know that it is logically impossible to know what is inside the mind of another exactly as the other mind knows it, because if you did, then there would logically no longer be two minds, but just one.
Thus Hillary can be present when her husband grants a pardon to people who helped her win her ridiculous senatehood but nothing can ever be proved.
No matter how much "proof" you have, it is never enough. Even if these people admitted their wrongdoing, they could be lying, forgetful, or just plain wrong!

Why is Rubin such an icon to these idiots?Because he is the dream Dem: A hard core, old fashioned liberal with a knack for posturing as a third-way, DLC type (but still letting the lefties know he's one of them). Packaging socialism so the masses will buy it is key for the Dems, and they need someone "respectable," like Rubin, who serves on corporate boards and such, to sell the package.
