Rev. Jesse Jackson calls off meeting with Hamas head after University bombing
Jerusalem Post ^ | 7-31-02

Posted on 07/31/2002 12:08:36 PM PDT by SJackson

U.S. civil rights leader Jesse Jackson cancelled a planned meeting with Hamas spiritual leader Sheik Ahmed Yassin after the Hamas claimed responsibility for Wednesday's terror attack at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

Jackson was to go to Gaza to meet with Yassin after seeing Arafat in Ramallah, but in the wake of the bombing, the visit was canceled. Hamas officials said Jackson called off the trip.

Hamas spiritual leader Sheik Ahmed Yassin linked the bombing to Israel's air strike in Gaza last week that killed Hamas military commander Salah Shehadeh and 14 other people.

"When Israel bombs a civilian building full of women and children, and kills 15 people, this is the response they should expect," Yassin told AP Television News. "Today's Israeli government should bear responsibility."

Just before the attack, Arafat held a joint news conference with Jackson. Arafat said Palestinian authorities were "continuing our efforts, and will continue, from every aspect, to stop the violence."

If you want on (or off) of my black conservative ping list, please let me know via FREEPmail. (And no, you don't have to be black to be on the list!)

Extra warning: this is a high-volume ping list.

The check must have bounced. Either that or Jesse had a date.

Did you see that picture if Jesse with Arafat. Though Jesse was wearing slimming black, he looked like he had been putting on some weight.
It would do him good to skip dinner.

Right thing, my streisand. He's probably just afraid they'll target him since they didn't hestitate to bomb a place that has a lot of pro-Pali Israeli intellectuals.

He didn't -- Jesse's simply afraid to stand next to somebody who's suddenly become a magnet for gunships and rockets.

Translation: Jesse is a chicken sh*t, as he is afraid to be where there could be any retaliation. Where is your courage Jesse? AFter all.. you were SO BRAVE to go there. This man is an idiot.

I ask.. DID HE GET PERMISSION FROM OUR STATE DEPARTMENT TO GO AND NEGOTIATE ANYTHING?? I want to know!!

Because if he didn't.. he should be exposed as interferring in a very dangerous and delicate matter.

Sounds sensible to me . . . what are the percentages, intentionally getting in the same room with someone who believes in
strapping on a load of TNT,
getting in a crowd,

and going

BOOM!
