A day in the life of President Bush (photos): 8/1/02

President Bush was granted trade promotion authority today by the Senate, and later thanked them for working so hard on this issue. Bush also met with Jordan's King Abdullah and discussed the war on terror, the crisis in Israel, and future actions against Iraq. Although King Abdullah made it clear that an attack on Iraq could lead to unrest in the entire region, Bush made it clear that he would not change his mind regarding a regime change. On the lighter side, Bush signed the Nursing Reinvestment Act of 2002, which will create federal assistance programs for nursing students as well as support a public service campaign encouraging people to become nurses. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

I don't know. The KING (do you love that) seems like an interesting guy, but I do think he got "The Look" from GW so I must wonder.

I'm thinking that W was thinking about what was in the news today that the Prince of Jordan does not support an attack on Iraq. I think W is thinking, "Man, I'm going to have to convince the Prince on how dire the situation is, but we'll get it done." I might be wrong, but that is what pops in the old noddle here.

Oh, yes, King. Well, it must have been a freudian slip on my part ;-), AND a little of my thought that W could convince the eskimos to buy ice in the winter. ...must be that MN "we'll be okay" coming out in me again! ha ha

I'll try to curb that ;-)

Yesterday we got this postcard from Eric. On the back of it he said, "....we just shot our M16's in our protective masks, and this is what we looked like! Cool, eh? And, of course, I am BAD to the BONE!"

Eric's in Blue Phase now, the final phase of Basic Training, with only 3 weeks to go before graduation. (THANK YOU LORD!!!)

He is still loving it! In the next 3 weeks he will work with grenades and rocket launchers, go on bivouac, and go on 10k and 15k marches in full gear.

He passed his M16 marksmanship test on the first try, though he wanted to score higher (he doesn't want anybody to do better than he!).

He's enjoying being in the PT stud room with only 4 guys and says he sleeps better there.......wonder why? He still thinks the food is good, and is getting more homesick, but says that knowing that he'll see us in three weeks makes it OK. He's also still involved in Bible studies with some of the guys, and was going through Romans with a 27 year old friend who hadn't read a Bible since he was a kid.

I know that you'll forgive my pride when I say.....God is going to use this young man in a mighty way! He is so thrilled to be where God wants him to be, and would like continued prayer for protection against the language and sexual jokes, for the guys he's sharing Christ with, and for him to be used by God in the next few weeks.

Thank you for your prayers!!! You are faithful friends, and I thank God for each of you!!

I agree with you that Traficant was a heel for making people give him a payback from their salaries. BTW, they took his squirrel cap away from him in jail.

The main reason why Toricelli will not share the same fate as Traficant is because Tom Daschle is the majority leader and he is much more worried about clinging to power than anything else. Daschle would sit back and watch the NYSE collapse if he thought it would keep him in power. Daschle would sit back and watch us lose the war on terrorism and sacrifice the lives of our soldiers if it meant he would remain the leader of the Senate.

The biggest threat to our security is not being able to defeat the RATS in Novemeber. Because if you think the attacks on GWB are terrible now.... Wait until after the November elections.

Although it is going to be ugly either way, because liberals are the most dangerous when they feel they can't control the noise that comes out of the idiot box we call a TV
