Members of the Muslim American community are providing extensive support for Rep. Cynthia McKinney (D-Ga.)I hope they keep it up. I can think of no more potent ammo for her opponent to use against McKinney than copies of disclosure forms with all those donations on them...

The Ohio-based CAIR-PAC, or Council on American-Islamic Relations, recently sent out a fundraising e-mail telling recipients: "Support Cynthia McKinney. She is our strategic choice . . . Pro-Muslim Candidate. Supporter of Palestinian State for over 7 years. Against Secret Evidence. Against Aid to Israel."And that's why CAIR, AMC & the Nation of Islam support McKinney.

Extra warning: this is a high-volume ping list.

I'm told she' a trailblazer, the backbone of Georgia, who takes tough stands on tough issues.
Just because she doesn't like some Americans much, and thinks GWB was intrumental in the 9/11 attacks, and his dad is instrumental (along with republicans and business in general) in trashing Africa, she could still be a nice person. You shouldn't hold that against her.

I can think of no more potent ammo for her opponent to use against McKinney than copies of disclosure forms with all those donations on them... I can think of more potent ammo. McKinney spoke from the podium at the Death to Israel "peace" hatefest on the Mall in D.C. on April 20th, according to P.J. O'Rourke's piece in the July/August Atlantic Monthly (O'Rourke observed the rally, and says he both saw and heard McKinney speak.) McKinney was the sole vote in the House Armed Services Committee a couple of weeks ago voting against the supplementary defense bill that raised servicemen's pay and allowances -- she objected to the support the bill gives to the intelligence agencies.

Yes, the fact that September 11, 2001 was one of McKinney's biggest fundraising days has been noted here on FR. I would still like to understand the mechanics of how she could receive so much money on that day, when virtually all offices were closed almost as soon as people realized the significance of the day.

I doubt the FEC has firsthand knowledge of the donation dates. I'm sure they take them from a report prepared by her staff after the fact, who could list a donation 9/11 as easily as 9/10 or 9/15. If true, thats worse, since her staff was obviously sending a message, IMO not a good one.

I don't know....I did come up with a DC address for CAIR. If they have an Ohio office, they don't list it on their main website.
