Undocumented immigrants

I.e., ILLEGAL immigrants, right? Having trouble opening bank accounts and whatnot, are we? DAMN STRAIGHT. Geezus.

I suspected that the Republican Party apparatus would want nothing to do with you - they have totally abandoned any pretense of upholding the rule of law regarding immigration. No surprise that the news media refused to cover your candidacy until the last minute - when it would do absolutely no good.

Your statement about Democrats wanting to support you confirms with what I have been hearing in New York recently - even many left-wingers have had it with illegal immigration. They understand what open borders will mean - drastically reduced wages for Americans and higher taxes for reduced government services.

The stance of my black co-workers on this issue is amazing - they are vehemently opposed to any sort of amnesty for illegals and want immigration, legal and illegal, to be ended. They understand that they are the group which has suffered the greatest economic loss from our current government policies.

"Oakland. What's in the water?" Poison is in the water. I've lived here for over twenty years and during the last ten things have become increasingly bad. All I have to do is go down Fruitvale Avenue and I'm in Tijuana. We're moving soon I hope. It's all become too much....too much diversity, too much multiculturalism, too many people from too many different places taking away my right to live and breath.

If this battle can be fought at all in the political arena, I believe it will have to be done by an independent candidate. I am considering such a move.

I hate to say it but the problem is going to have to get very bad before there is political will to stop illegal immigration. By then, the country may be lost forever.

I think that the Democrats may actually decide to capitalize on the growing unease in the country. Their platform, as I see it is:

We could afford to welcome unlimited immigration during the heady economic times of President Clinton, however, now that Bush has destroyed the economy, we need to pull back from this policy for a while.

Note Hillary's votes against expanded public expenditures for legal immigrants. There have been a number of articles in various left-wing publications advocating a reduction in immigration. There also unease among environmentalists about our burgeoning population.
