August 4, 2002 -- McMINNVILLE, Ore. - Pamela Reser was convicted on the testimony of her four children.

They told the court their mother engaged in sexual acts with them and forced them to have sex with each other. The children were aged 8 and under at the time of the alleged abuse.

Wait just a minute here. This woman admits she was in a drug addled fog for a long enough period of time during their childhood that she doesn't know WHICH boyfriend might have actually done some sexual abuse? That she exposed her children to such danger and the possiblity that they were abused and she doesn't even know if and when suggests she abandoned her children to every possible evil. That makes her complicit. How do we know what happened to these confused kids? What a mess. V's wife.

For what she did to those kids under eight years old she hardly got what she deserved. I give the kids credit, they did the only thing they could to get out of Hell. Believe me, her three years in the slammer were nothing compared to the Hell she put those kids through. Rough justice is better than none.

Don't jump the gun too much, though -- the article implies that the kids may have been bullied or otherwise coaerced into their stories. Kind of sounds like some DCFS worker or government shrink got over-zealous -- that's who needs to be punished.

Because, after all, we all know that subornation of perjury by a government official is a... very... serious... um... never mind.

I still can't blame the kids who were probably rational actors. I wouldn't be surprised if some well-meaning social worker told them they would be back with there Mom as soon as possible. I just hope they can get over this and that their mother hangs herself. And I don't think I'm being uncharitable, everyone would be better off if she did.

Why is it that when parents are accused of sexually
abusing their children, the prosecutors go whole hog to
convict them and lock them away for life, but when
pedophiles are accused, the state chooses the
path of leniency and they are out on the street again in
no time flat?

So you think the children have now been brainwashed to recant what was the truth? You don't know that!

Far more likely is that the Socialist Workers brainwashed the kids to believe abuse that never occurred. It happens every day. And now the poor children have realized that their complicity in this vast lie has devastated their innocent mother and doomed them to a pitiful adopted life in "the system". The social workers should be hanged, and skinned slowly in salt water, IMHO.

I"m with you. The mother neglected, then abandoned her kids for her addictions, exposing them to all the grief,terrors, and exposure to harm that entails.

I'd lie to make it so that I could be placed with decent people, especially if I had been instructed that was the one sure way to make sure I got out of hell.

You didn't read the article. The lie got them OUT of the system. They were freed for adoption, they were all adopted.

I wouldn't be surprised if a foster parent or prospective adoptive parent helped coach them on how to get free from their monster of a mother.

The sad thing is, her abandonment and addictions weren't enought by themselves to terminate her parental rights.
