[history]
On Dec. 6, 1941, World War II was already in full swing. As with the Japanese airstrikes on Pearl Harbor, the Sept. 11 attack brought Americans into a pitched battle over the future of Western civilization--one that the U.S. had ignored for too long.

This can be contrasted by commentary made by another chess master, Bobby Fischer, who I believe thought that the USA had 9/11 coming to them. Mr. Kasparov can be praised even more because he's not even American! (compared to Mr. Hate-America, who is an "American")

Written by a guy who definitely can see more than two moves ahead.

I think the taliban did not think far enough ahead. They won the battle of 9/11, but completely lost the war as a result.

This is all very well and good, but what would Kasparov do if confronted by a Falkbeer Counter Gambit?
To: Pokey78
This article could have been written better by a computer. :)
Thanks for the bump, Pokey (and for all the others).

I don't know but don't press him too hard on the computer thing. He's still very touchy about that.

"How will we fight and win this war?"
We will direct every resource at our command -- every means of diplomacy, every tool of intelligence, every instrument of law enforcement, every financial influence, and every necessary weapon of war -- to the destruction and to the defeat of the global terror network.
Now, this war will not be like the war against Iraq a decade ago, with a decisive liberation of territory and a swift conclusion. It will not look like the air war above Kosovo two years ago, where no ground troops were used and not a single American was lost in combat.
Our response involves far more than instant retaliation and isolated strikes. Americans should not expect one battle, but a lengthy campaign unlike any other we have ever seen. It may include dramatic strikes visible on TV and covert operations secret even in success.
We will starve terrorists of funding, turn them one against another, drive them from place to place until there is no refuge or no rest.
And we will pursue nations that provide aid or safe haven to terrorism. Every nation in every region now has a decision to make: Either you are with us or you are with the terrorists.
--President George W. Bush

Mr. Kasparov can be praised even more because he's not even American! (compared to Mr. Hate-America, who is an "American") And both of them are Jewish... so what is stronger, blood or convictions?
Kasparov was being force-fed Soviet ideological shit, and the habitual Russian anti-Semitism, for a big part of his life. So he developed useful immunity to liberal drooling.
Bobby Fischer is a typical American liberal, as is Noah Chomsky and many others. They still live in a Lefty Coo-coo Land.
