Party after Hebrew U. bombing was no dud
The Washington Times ^ | August 4, 2002 | RODNEY BROOKS

Posted on 8/5/2002, 12:34:34 PM by robowombat

Honest Reporting, a media watchdog group, complained Friday that "the media failed to report the mass celebrations in Gaza following the Hebrew University bombing. An estimated 10,000 Palestinian men, women and children celebrated in the streets with clapping, singing and distributing sweets." Honest Reporting specifically mentioned Washington´s "other" paper. So may I congratulate The Washington Times for including not only a description of the celebration, but also a photo showing happy faces exulting over the deaths and injuries to more than 80 innocent people, including many fellow Arabs ("3 Americans die in bombing in Jerusalem," Page 1, Thursday).

My only criticism is that the article did not show that Hamas´ claim that the attack was "retaliation" for the Israeli strike that killed one of its top men, Sheik Salah Shehadeh, is belied by the fact that Hamas has been conducting an uninterrupted campaign of terrorism anyway. In fact, Israel has uncovered plans for as many as 60 attacks planned before the man´s death. It is very easy, after the fact, to call these attacks "revenge," but it doesn´t mean they are.

In Gaza, Hamas and Palestinians terrorists again celebrate death they
have brought to democracies and the West. They cheer the deaths of innocents
as Israel and America slowly bleed by their actions.

In Gaza, children support terror last night.

In Gaza, Hamas terrorists carry perp Mohamad Meqdad, 22,
shot by Israeli soldiers Saturday, Aug. 3 2002, near the Jewish settlements of Dugit and Alei Sina
as he arrived armed and dressed in a wet suit.

I understand that the Israelis have already taken the guy who is responsible for these latest attacks into custody. Sounds like a nice surgical removal with no "collateral damage", in the face of International criticism over recent Pali casualties.

Pardon me?

A proper response would have been to fly a helicopter over this crowd and drop the bastard out of it from 1000 feet, followed up by F-16s dropping cluster bombs. Drive these rats back into their holes and shoot them down when they try to sneak out to get water.

Question: what Mideast country would not bomb a demonstration of its enemies celebrating deaths of innocent citizens of this country?

Answer: only Israel. I can't imagine even so called moderates Egypt or Jordan not to summarily round up and shoot their celebrating enemies if given a chance.

I disagree. But as only to the type aircraft that should be used, preferably Israeli A4 Skyhawks with more loiter time for such ground support missions, or American A10 Warthogs, ideally both, and to the type of ordnance that should be delivered on target.

Good point. Low and slow. Apache AH64D with it's popup and fire capabilities, combined with a 30 mm gatling gun would work too, especially in an urban setting with all those alleys to sweep.

It is this kind of narrow-minded thinking that perpetuates the problem.

The best solution would be multiple C-130 Specter gunships. You should have known.

Dang. Once again I stand corrected and surrender to your logic.
