Thanks for your view, I didn't pay much attention to the trial.
To: Rodney King
Very few people did, Rodney King. That's how the government got away with it. Those who did watch, because of their small numbers, can safely be dismissed as "kooks."
For a view of how real corruption is handled, check out the "punishment" of Senator Torricelli. The government had physical evidence on him, and he was punished.
"...The Senate ethics committee "severely admonished" Torricelli this week for accepting gifts from David Chang, a wealthy campaign donor, on three occasions and advancing Chang's business interests with U.S. and South Korean government officials..."
Torricelli agreed to give the money back. I watched his admission of wrong-doing and apology last night on television, in a speach before the Senate. Torricelli is still a Senator.
Torricelli is an admitted criminal, with hard evidence of his crimes. There were never any criminal charges brought by the Justice Department against Torricelli, even though he admits his guilt.
Traficant had no real evidence against him, and still proclaimes his innocence, even after conviction.
The result of the "investigation" of Senator Torricelli is strong evidence that Traficant is telling the truth.
