What Bush will actually do is squat. His tax cuts
to date are so pushed out, they've been part of the
problem. Meanwhile he's signed budget busting spending
bill after spending bill, imposed horrific steel
tariffs, screwed up air transport without providing
any increase in security, put Saddam on notice
that he should ready and deploy
his WMD's and given him 10 months
and counting to do so.
If Bush ultimately presides over the
biggest Bear market since Herbert Hoover,
he will deserve the blame he gets, and we won't see
another republican president in my lifetime.

Astute analysis BTT.

The reality that all the D.C. Republicans are afraid to face is that government consumption of private sector wealth must be drastically cut as well. It is useless to cut taxes when government spends ever more money each year, incurring debt and printing money to cover the difference. The wealth-destroying effects are the same as if taxes had been increased.

I'm afraid, as much as freepers don't want to hear it, that there's a lot of truth in this post

I only got a chance to read your post today. The problem I have in what you state is quite obvious. If you were around in the nineteen seventies, you would have seen a horrendous market much worse than this. In the seventies interest rates were double digets, as well as unemployment. Having only run the country for over a year and a half, the Presidents efforts are clearly more positive than you think. That's not to mention a senate that's done nothing to help the situation. Cut him some slack.
