Nancy Johnson (R-CT) also voted against this in the house. She is pure RINO.

Boxer is a soulless creature condemned to spend the rest of her life running from the truth.

THANK GOD FOR GEORGE W. BUSH!

And this surprises you, yendu? I'd be surprised if 25 voted for it! Let's hope this leads to more of these kinds of signed bills by our presidente. I'm all for it. I know the Democrats were dumb. I didn't know that they could contemplate letting born babies die. That truly is evil. I have a hard time comprehending it.

"Born Alive" Infant Protection Act BTTT!
To: Vets_Husband_and_Wife
Sorry, but you're confusing the two -- born alive and partial birth abortion. Protecting those who suvived an abortion is not the same as banning partial birth abortion.

I'm sure the PBA ban won't come to a vote. Daschle can't let it because he voted in favor of both of the previous bans. If it comes to a vote he'd have to choose between his party's baby killing supporters and his own constituents in the midst of an election. That'll never happen.

From Priests for Life
Fr. Pavone and Priests for Life Applaud Born-Alive Act
For Immediate Release Call Jerry Horn 540-785-4733
August 5, 2002
Priests for Life applauds the signing into law of the Born-Alive Infants Protection Act (H.R. 2175) by President George W. Bush today. The law establishes that a baby who is "completely expelled or extracted" alive from his or her mother at any stage of gestation, and whether viable or not, is a person worthy of protection.
Fr. Frank Pavone, Founding Director of Priests for Life, stated, "This law makes it clear that the legal status of a child does not depend on whether anyone happens to want him or her. Rather, that child possesses the right to be protected simply because he or she is human, period."
Priests for Life has followed the development of this legislation from the beginning, and over recent years has been promoting -- on television and through full-page ads in USA Today and elsewhere -- the testimony of Jill Stanek, the nurse who blew the whistle on one hospital's practice of killing premature infants as an abortion technique.
"The signing of this Act into law is a significant step; even more significant will be drawing out its implications about the relationship between life and choice. We are committed to carrying that conversation forward with vigor," Fr. Pavone concluded.

Actually it wasn't symbolic at all. It has happened many times, and there has been nothing, no law, to protect surviving babies of abortions, and finally when a bill which would protect them was brought up in Congress a couple of years ago, Clinton's pals blocked it from even coming up for a vote.
Jane Chastain wrote an excellent column, horribly sad, on it a couple of years ago. It should be in the archives under Worldnetdaily if you want to read it.

My friend was there for the signing of this bill. She had testified in congress about it several years ago. She survived being aborted because a nurse whisked her away and wouldn't let anyone hurt her.

I am so very happy it passed! Thanks for the post. Thanks for keeping this out there as a topic. When we find that we must defend our children against their parents, perhaps we need to reconsider where we are taking our country. I am so sorry for all those little babies that are killed every year. What a ghastly shame. I commend Jill Staneck for her testimony before congress last year. She really alerted many of us to what was really happening to our children.

WOO HOO!!! Score one for the good guys! This is another reason why we need to hold on to the House. Regardless of how many Democrats may have voted "Aye", this bill never would have come up for a vote under Speaker Gephardt.

No, no, no...see "You've got rights!" on NRO. This is an important development in the struggle for the unheard, the powerless, the unborn. The first limitation of abortion "rights" since 1973, thank God.
To: sanchmo
Understand this: Sen Boxer is supported well by the fetal tissue harvesting industry; she knows much of the better defined tissues are harvested after the infant is born then killed or allowed to struggle unto death; Senator Boxer knows whom butters her bread and she intends to defend their criminality democrat-given rights to the utmost; Sen. Boxer is too dead spiritually to give a tinker's damn about little babies killed for their tissues, as long as Boxer gets campaign funds from the procurers and at least someone pleads for the 'right' to hire a serial killer to off the tissue sources.

First, much of the couch potato republic will realize for the first time that abortion clinics kill babies born alive. Secondly, much of the couch potato republic will realize that there are people (including elected representatives) who have no problem with killing babies even outside the womb. Thank you for saying it so well! And, So true!!

This bill has two important aspects. First, much of the couch potato republic will realize for the first time that abortion clinics kill babies born alive. Secondly, much of the couch potato republic will realize that there are people (including elected representatives) who have no problem with killing babies even outside the womb
Some people just say it so well!!!

It's about time.
I remember so clearly a debate that took place when I was in high school (a few years after Roe). The pro-lifer claimed that even if a woman was only days away from giving birth, she could have an abortion if she could only find a willing "doctor".
The pro-abortion debater vehemently denied the charge.
I guess a couple of decades of brainwashing have really had an effect.
