Abstaining were Australia, Bulgaria, Canada, Honduras, Nauru, Nicaragua, Nigeria, Romania, Samoa, Solomon Islands and Tonga. So much for England, Germany, Russia, South Korea, *spit* France, Turkey, and our other "allies". Why does almost EVERY one of the "death to Israel" votes (about 35% of all UN resolutions) have exactly 4 no-votes (US, Israel, and two tiny island nations)?
Yahoo's title was misleading in an interesting way. "UN assembly demands Israeli withdrawal". I was hoping that the withdrawal was from the UN, and not "Palestinian" cities. Then the US could be next!
Question: why is it that you imply, by placing quotation marks around allies, that England et al. have betrayed the United States by their vote? Last I looked this was a vote that could be viewed as against Israel. Israel and the United States are not one entity. Now, having said that, to hell with the UN, and Israel shouldn't worry about this resolution in the slightest. But the real question is, how does it affect America?
