The latest flare-up in the Middle East is once again shining the spotlight on the plight of millions of destitute Palestinian living in squalid refugee camps. Arabs claim to be outraged by the Palestinians' plight, but in reality they have contributed little to the welfare of the Palestinian people.

The economic crisis facing the Palestinian refugees comes at a time of sharp economic downturn in the Middle East. Yet it is still significant that, of UNRWA's $340 million annual operating budget, the Arab states combined donate less than $5 million (or just under 2%), compared to nearly $90 million from the U.S. -- well over 30% of UNRWA's budget. Egypt, the largest recipient of U.S. foreign aid, gives only $10,000 per year, and the wealthy Persian Gulf states of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates collectively donate a paltry $4.5 million. It's amazing how transparent the Arabs are about their real feelings towards Palestinians. What is more amazing is the how Europeans and most of the press are completely blind to it.

Birds of a feather - Democrats and totalitarian regimes. Each needs victims to to give legitimacy to their phoney causes so they create them and assure that they stay victims, giving just enough to say they are helping them.
We are fools to continue to allow our enemies, both domestic and foreign, to continue to take advantage of our good morals, ethics, and natures. Tough love is the true and proven way. Conservatives need to stop being wimps.

And the Palestinians are too clueless to see that, in addition to their homicidal tendencies, their own ignorance and gullibility make the Palestinians their own worst enemies.
