I see that Clement Vallandigham (a former House member who had been exiled to the Confederacy by Lincoln) was allowed to run for governor of Ohio in 1863, even though he was then in the Confederacy. Has Ohio law changed since then?

...and here's the theme song for this Traficant Zone episode:

Hiawatha didn't bother too much
'Bout Minnie Ha-Ha and her tender touch
Till she took him to the silver stream
Then she whispered words like he had never heard
That made him all shudder inside when she said
Wig-wam bam, gonna make you my man
Wam bam bam, gonna get you if I can
Wig-wam bam, wanna make you understand
Try a little touch, try a little too much
Just try a little wig-wam bam

Running Bear never cared enough
About Little White Dove and her tender love
Till she took him to the silver stream
She told him all about what he couldn't live without
And made him all weak inside when she said

Wig-wam bam, gonna make you my man
Wam bam bam, gonna get you if I can
Wig-wam bam, wanna make you understand
Try a little touch, try a little too much
Just try a little Wig-wam bam

Wig-wam bam sham-a-lam
Wam bam bam sham-a-lam
Wig-wam bam sham-a-lam
Wam bam bam sham-a-lam

Hiawatha didn't bother too much
About Minnie Ha-Ha and her tender touch
Till she took him to the silver stream
Then she whispered words like he'd never heard
That made him all shudder inside when she said

Wig-wam bam, gonna make you my man
Wam bam bam, gonna get you if I can
Wig-wam bam, wanna make you understand
Try a little touch, try a little too much
Just try a little wig-wam bam, and she said

Wig-wam bam, gonna make you my man...

lyrics by Sweet, circa 1972

Sometimes parody, such as this one does have an effect on real life. Take a look at this new STORY just out about Judge Wells recusing herself from a similar case. I sent this "Traficant Zone" article to all the major newspapers in Ohio. I knew they wouldn't publish it because of its length but I also knew the newsroom types would e-mail it all over the place. Apparently Judge Wells got wind of it (as I planned) and now she is doing some MAJOR BACKTRACKING. What's the matter, Judge Wells? Did I hurt your feelings by turning you into a LAUGHINGTOCK?

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

I know this is hard to imagine but listening to you on FR radio I saw the light bulb go off while talking to AnnaZ.

Haven't looked at the addition to the thd yet but I know it will be a classic.

This parody went online last Wednesday. I sent the story to the major Ohio newspapers last Thursday morning. On Friday, Judge Wells RECUSES herself from the Detore case for the VERY SAME reasons discussed in the parody (conflict of interest with husband's business). Coincidence or not? You be the judge (as long as it isn't the corrupt Judge Wells).

Very funny too.

Judge Wells and Craig Morford didn't think it was so funny when they read it. Hee! Hee!
