We were treated to the amusing sight of the Separatiste leader Parizeau accepting defeat on TV, blaming "la vote ethnique" for the loss!
Didn't he also blame his loss on "money", too? But I never understood that referendum. Even if he had received 99% of the vote, the question on the ballot had nothing to do with separation from the rest of Canada. Like, what was supposed to happen the day after they won, plan for another referendum to see if they really meant it?
