Oh DaisyScarlett - My GrandMama was a Flapper and pretty good at doing the Charleston - but Momma could outdo her everytime!! Charleston, Charleston...
Momma tried to teach us all of the little "extra" moves that go into the Charleston - well needless to say - we tried, but... the Shag was more our still.
The dance - the Charleston - was actually picked up from the little black boys from the Jenkins Orphanage. They use to play instruments on the corners and sing and dance to make spending money.

"I've always considered myself to be a Southron person." Yep - you're definitely one of us, as a Texan.
Why, some of our very best scalawags patriots headed west to Texas to 'make a difference'..:)))
(and elude the law! hahaha)

Oh no, I'm late for class again!!!! Miss Rika's gonna give me so many demerits, I'll never catch up! Maybe if I use all the words from the past year in one sentence she'll over look my inability to get to class on time! Think?
To: LadyX; whoever
;-) There was told to me the story about folks who would tack a note, or paint G.T.T. on their front door with the knowledge that others would know that it meant:
Gone To Texas
Time for me to go do what TheList tells me needs to be done. Send a search party out for Who! I'm becoming concerned. Thanks, JL

Who must be on a walkabout of some kind.
Since she cannot leave footsteps, how're we gonna track her down?!!
Seriously, who, we miss you and worry 'bout you, whoever and wherever you are.

The biggest and best project that the Chapter has taken on is the Bill of Rights Day function headed by Citizenx7. We are going into our third year with it and he has done a stupendous job. We have awarded two children, one middle school (public) and one Eagle Scout $500 dollar bonds for the essay's that they have written. This is awesome. The whole list of accomplishments is awesome, Dixie Sass.
How wonderful to learn more about you today, and how wonderful that fellow FReepers recognize the honor that is your due, today and ALWAYS, for being an involved American, a positive Patriot, a tireless government oversight committee of one!, and an example to us all.
Wow. Thank you for all you do, for Free Republic, for America, for your hometown and state. Thank you, too, for what you have done for me today in sharing your story.
FReegards to you, Billie and DaisyScarlett!

Give it a shot, chick... Don't feel so bad, I was the one asking what that weird word was that everybody was using today... ;)

You put the logo on your desktop and can't figure out how to get the 'rest'? That's tough to do because it's not all done as one image that can be saved, but rather a bunch of html commands put together. The two pictures (of yourself) you can save, and you can save the Dixie (on my mind) graphic, but I guess not the rest. : ( The best I could do is upload the html of just your featured part, and give you the link to that. Would that be helpful to have?

Charleston and the Low Country. Sighhhhhh! What a beautiful site to drive down the back roads and catch a glimpse of the Salt Marshes. Smell the pluff mud on a hot summer's day at low tide. Sit on the porch with a tall glass of Ice Tea or in the afternoons a Mint Julep from a frosty cup! Listening to the children playing. The crickets chirping and fire flies glowing - clear summer nights. The sound of the breeze through the pines and water oaks. The lapping of the ocean at the beach. Beach, boogie and blues music coming somewhere - not real loud, but just enough to stir the soul.
Walking along the Battery, the High Battery, Azaleas in bloom, the lemon scent of Magnolia's, spring time smells of Jasimine, Wisteria and something undefined.
Walking the streets of Charleston and the Low Country and knowing and feeling secure in that we have changed very little - our ideals, our wants and needs are very much the same as our ancestors. Knowing that history is just around the corner, we are living it and have lived it. Our heritage, a unique love and pride in our history - no matter what century it is. We are well into our fourth here in Charleston - we are going to be around for four more.
