Your story reminds me of the Charlie Daniels song "Carolina." As the song starts out, Charlie reminisces about growing up in Carolina: the train condutor's pocketwatch as big as one of grandma's warm, fluffy buttermilk biscuits and snow falling, soft and cool like goose feathers.
