All hail a feisty freeper! One of my favorite places to visit in South Carolina is Middleton Place Plantation.

Hi Ligeia - Middleton Place looks absolutely beautiful! I will put it on my "places to visit" list.

I read thru the website - very cool history. Unfortunately, it looked like this when the yankees lived there:

Oh how beautiful - the Butterfly Lakes at Middleton Gardens jutting into the Ashley River. The house in the left center is the bachelor's house. The orginal house was destroyed in 1865 by troops from New York. Also destroyed was another house on the right.

Y'all must come and see these Gardens!

It is soooooooooooooooooo romantic!!!!!! Just go to a wedding there. Are the food - wonderful. Accomodations are super. It is living history.
