Basically: the money is already spent, might as well make use of the men and materials.

- I think there's a little more to it. The effect of delay on morale can be catastrophic. If your own people don't believe that you know what you're doing you can't accomplish anything.

We will fix Iraq this time and if there is any justice in this world we will not stop there.

- We had better "fix" Iraq if we wish to retain any credibility in this world. Regardless of risks or costs we've gone too far to back down. Empty words, devoid of actions are so Clintonsque, so 90's.

100's of thousand reservists called up? Not even close.

The Aug 7 report from the Pentagon says that about 79,000 reservists have been called up, a net DECLINE of 656 from the previous report.

The real question is: who do we invade next after iraq is taken care of?

I would not be surprised if we first jump on the Saudi oil fields and then or simultaneously go into Iraq, perhaps also into Iran. I think Turkey will take care of Northern Iraq There have been so many reports of our plans to attack Iraq that I suspect that may not be the first target. There will be surprises.

be in there no later than early 2003.

I hope that it is in September or October (11 Sep would be nice) so that we can get some electoral benefit if there is any to be had. It would be a good "October Surprise".

, might that not make a pre-election attack good?

Like, say 9-11?

Not that I'd be "in the know" but looking at the board/map it would make very good strategic sense to get Iraq and then you could move in almost ANY direction to attack more of our enemies.
