CHINA BELIEVED SELLING WMD TO FINANCE MILITARY WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The United States believes China is selling weapons of mass destruction to Middle East states to finance efforts to modernize Beijing's military.

U.S. officials said this includes WMD sales to such countries as Egypt, Iran, Libya, Syria and Saudi Arabia. They said the sales include both technology for the development of biological and chemical weapons as well as components and expertise for what is presented as civilian nuclear facilities.

The latest assertion of China's WMD policy came in a Defense Department report released last month. The Pentagon released a report to Congress entitled "Military Power of the People's Republic of China."

"China's proliferation of weapons of mass destruction -- associated technology and conventional munitions may help subsidize certain force modernization programs," the report said. "Tracking these sources complicates the process of identifying

I kind of doubt this:
The chinese have their own problem with Islamists.
The Chinese see how Islamists stick together.
So, the chinesse would probably figure give WMD to Islamists in the Mid East today, and the WMD would fetch up on the Southern border of China soon enough.

So they are doing what we fear Saddam may do? The only difference between big terrorists and litle terrorists is that we don't go after the Big terrorists. After all, remember Stalin? The problem the United States has is the intelligence to tell whether China, Russia, etc. have been covertly supplying terrorists through intermediaries with no trace back to the original source. We haven't had any national security, and have depleted our own intelligence agencies to where they are ineffective.

America will wipe the ME clean if nukes are used on our troops. This opens the ME up for Chinese expansion from Sudan. Russia gains massive oil sales, Russia and China signed a pact against America two years ago.

China sold nuclear bomb technology to Pakistan - a LONG TIME ago...about the same time India was getting their bomb goodies from Russia.
The Pakistanis have been using Chinese-made weapons for years. The Iraquis have "silkworm" anti-ship missiles from China-PLUS- a lot of Russian stuff.
