Ann is an embarassment to the conservative movement.
She is confrontational and too arrogant to assist the cause. Her vernacular and tone does little to elevate her op/eds.
Instead, it becomes the Jerry Springer of the conservative movement.

I'd rather see less of Ann and more of Sean Hannity, Hugh Hewitt, or Fred Barnes.

ALL conservative or even conservative-leaning "center right" voices are welcome, IMHO.

Ann's self-described "invective," however, is what lifts her message above the background noise of our over-stimulated media, and gets her ideas heard in the dark corners of liberal propaganda, like the Today Show, Donahue and CNN.

FWIW, her method seems to be somwhat effective, viz:

Well, ...thanks for the cogent reply. I firmly believe that what should be the golden age of conservatism, is in fact being co-opted, i.e. wasted, by pseudo-leaders who in fact are just entertainers.

Call it the "Limbaugh Syndrome."

If you remember, early on Rush was asked to be an actual leader, but declined and repeatedly stated that his show wasn't about Republican political activism, it was entertainment. I never knew quite what to make of his position, but his "success" has been copied by others and now infests the rightwing.

The result of this politically has been to watch the Republican Revolution of 94 slowly devolve into a creep back into power by the (formerly) thoroughly discredited LEFT. The Reason? : the VastRightWing is wasting their time and money being "entertained" by our opinion "leaders" while the left is out registering Democrats to vote and driving them to the polls on election day.

OK, here's a question. If the Gummit is broke, and can't fund the War on Islam, how can it justify budgeting:
NPR,
NEA,
BIA,
Crop Subsidies,
EPA,
BATF,
100,000 Cops Program,
Railroad Pensions,
Passenger Amtrak,
Pork Barrel projects,
the Corps of Engineer boondoggles,
SS protection of clinton,
the Pensions and Perks of having once been a member of the Senate...

The list is all but endless!

There is a time and place for humor......I guess you don't get that.

We need meaty people on our side, but sometimes I just want to be able to laugh at the liberal viewpoint, not have someone explain to me in boring prose why it is wrong.

Hopefully someone will go to the SCOTUS with that very argument.

I hope they won't call for banning broadcast journalism or restricting the freedom of the press, as I could not support that.

But, I think there is a valid argument for forcing the media to get rid of half the liberals and replace them with conservatives. That way, there will actually be fair and balanced coverage. As it stands right now, while they are the "press," the FCC has not done its job by letting it become a propaganda machine. In such a case, I don't think "freedom of the press" could be used in defense, at least not if I was the judge.

I didn't even take the SAT....I wonder if there is a place online where you can see what your ACT scores look like converted to the SAT. I will have to look out of curiosity.

I knew of it, but NPR isn't that powerful it seems to me. It isn't like PBS.

I want to be Ann when I grow up.

I have in mind a preposition that will make that a proposition.

I have not read her book, although I am sure that it is humorous. On the other hand, Fred Barnes, Morton Kondrake, Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly, and Peggy Noonan have excellent columns that more than saturate any free hours of the night.

Either post a comment that has substance, or don't post anything at all.

Rondog,

Her technique to garner mass media attention may sell books and may "get attention"; however, we have to spend more time addressing her personality and tone, instead of spending time discussing facts and policy. Thus, the cause is lost before we can even start a cogent discussion. Hence, my comment that A.C. is becoming the Jerry Springer of the conservative movement.

Levity is appropriate at times. Rush Limbaugh and others do an excellent job with parody. However, the liberal psychology requires deliberate techniques to defeat. Coulter's tone does not help address the need to be "compassionate".

You are correct. I suppose the real issue is that the GOP and conservatives lack a real strong female lead character. It is easier for women to work within the liberal psychology. The democrats prey (or is it "pray"?) to emotionality, and thus "tone" is an important factor. Coulter's lack of "compassion" certainly hinders the attempts to paint the GOP with a warm and fuzzy brush.

I watched Jerry Springer once. Once.

I watch Ann Coulter every chance I get. If you seriously think there is any comparison between the two, then I can't take seriously anything else you have to say.

I think she's a bright articulate young woman who has a real knack for cutting through leftist BS. God bless her!

I beg to differ. Conservative thought and philosophy predates Ann Coulter. Only a post-modern revisionist would attempt to calibrate the entire conservative movement to a Coulter.

If you really want a feminine tone and maintain intellect, read PEGGY NOONAN!

I have no compassion whatsoever for people who want to tax me more, regulate me more, and I have less than no compassion for people who support the money-grabbing lefties.
