When voters went to the polls on Nov. 7, 2000, the reported annual economic growth rate for the first three quarters of 2000 averaged 4.4 percent; reported corporate profits, having seemed to rise inexorably, smashed records from one quarter to the next, and the unemployment rate was below 4 percent. What a contrast, then-Vice President Al Gore constantly reminded the nation, with the economic environment eight years earlier. When voters went to the polls on Nov. 3, 1992, for example, the reported annual economic growth rate for the first three quarters of 1992 averaged 2.4 percent.

and since president clinton was a democrat the news media will not focus the attention of the american people on the fact that these lies were told. If he was republican, then you can bet that everyone in america would have a clear understanding of the lies and would be very concerned about it. The fact that the media is so biased for one party is why clinton could get away with it and all the other lies too. George Washington said that the spirit of party was evil. Until the media is honest we cannot have an honest discussion about our national problems, therefore it is unlikely that they will be addressed through government efforts.
