Mother Nature would handle an over population of carnivores like housecats by culling out the excess. Now what's so hard about that?

I agree.

Although honestly, I'd probably feel too bad to shoot a kitty myself unless it were dangerous or ill or injured. Even then I'd rather get my hubby to do it. {:-\

I haven't shot a cat in years since I moved back into the city. I knew that would get a rise out of you. I have seen your many left wing loonie posts about animals and wacky save the planet issues.

Catch a clue train sometime: feral cats also attack and kill livestock, such as chickens, ducks, rabbits, etc. I feel no remorse for smacking them down to protect what was mine.

Well if I had shot your cat, you would never have seen it again. Not bragging but a fact. However the subject was FERAL cats (as in wild). I did not go around smacking down house cats of my neighbors.

Some landlords don't understand if they get rid of feral cats in their area, more will move in," she says.

In that case, keep shooting them as you see them.

Logic would dictate that the feral kitty population will eventually decrease.

What a bunch of bedwetting crybabies.

I must admit that exess cats were never a problem when I lived in Taiwan. In fact, it took quite an effort to ensure that the family pet cat didn't become the entre of the day at the local restaurant.

I hope you aren't offended by my post in #18, I had a few too many beers and figured it would get pulled after about 10 seconds.

It's really a great, albeit digusting, allegory about how bureaucracy usurps the power of representative government.

Thanks for the ping Dak. Oregon seems to be pretty well suited to wild cats. And they seem a bit smarter than your average house cat. It only took three days for them to learn to stay out of my Samurai and that BB guns are painfull. Far smarter than humans, my human neighbors at least, it took them 2 months to figure out that the same cats that they were feeding were also "marking" their yard and vehicles.

Can you recite the hemeroid one from memory too?

But then, bureaucracy usurping the power of representative government is disgusting on it's face, IMHO.

I didn't recite that, I just cut-n-pasted. Yes, he was really screwed up, which is why I think his stuff is interesting. It's kind of like watching a car wreck.

Try reading a whole book of it. Just following it takes a massive effort and nevermind understanding it the first time thru.

I read it back in my young, liberal days, I just can't recite any of it. Weird stuff alright, kind of a cross between sci-fi and firsthand accounts of mental illness.

Exactly! Couldn't have put any better words to it.

Have you seen the Naked Lunch movie? Peter Weller (robo-cop) is "Bill". Lots of homo stuff but otherwise a very strange/interesting look at a halucinating junkies mind.

Yeah, I saw it years ago, when it came out on video. It was kind of disappointing, I could sort of understand what was going on. :-)
