The unchallenged reign of the "soccer mom" -- the darling of Democratic pollsters and candidates just two years ago -- is officially over.

The women whose concern for education, environment and health care drove the 2000 presidential election now must share their demographic throne with their husbands, the "office park dads" whose brows are furrowed over the economy, national security and defense.

"Office Park Dads"

Is this the "girly man" in the Tyson Foods radio commercials?

I guess I'm an "office park dad" considering I am 28 years old, work as an Auditor in an office park and I have two children.

I've discussed the economy with dozens of co-workers, Republicans, Democrats and Independents. I've yet to find one (even among the democrats) who blames President Bush for the state of the economy.

I think the Democrats would be better off sticking to the gullible "sucker moms" that will buy the load of bilge they are trying to sell. Why are Democrats so desperate to find new voters? Perhaps the "sucker moms" are finally wiseing up.

Not one thing in the article about what is best for the nation. Just how they can prostitute themselves for a constituency real or imagined. GOP is the same way. All politicians suck.

"They're (baby) boomers and busters . . . these are people who make $60,000 a year, and they're struggling to make it in the new economy."

Are things that messed up in SF, that one can't live on 60K?

Office park dads is not a very catchy phrase and doesn't even make sense. Another lame democratic plan to divide and conquere, I guess.

educated men who generally agree with Democrats on issues like Social Security and health care

These aren't "office park dads". They're "homosexuals".

Sucker moms have started to wise up.

.Don't know if it was the pardons, when all were "shocked" by how terrible the clintons were. (they probably didn't like the way Bill was looking a Denise's breasts)

Or was it the Rat/Media touting how stupid Bush was. They just couldn't see it in the debates. The Speech on Sept. 21 prooved what liars the press were if all could see Bush without the lens of the media.

Or could it be that the sucker moms don't want the enviralmentalists to take their SUV's away.

Move over Soccer Moms -- here come 'Office Park Dads'

The 'Rats have switched from Blondie to Dagwood.
Very fitting. The Dems are not a party of reality.
They ARE a comic strip.

Beware.

Many of the "Sucker Moms" I know seem to have gotten a wake up call on September 11.

They now see there are some things in the world more important than gun control or abortion or whatever their liberal pet issue of the moment was. I guess those issues don't seem very important to them when they can't even be sure that their husbands or children will make it home from work or school without being killed in a terrorist attack.

Another lame, amusing democrat idea. Wasn't it just last month that they proclaimed they were going after the NASCAR vote? I wonder what happened to that?

Looking at enough photos of Afghan women getting shot in the head will do that to you.

The irony is Democrats and "Nascar Men" did not have much in common.

Why vote for the party that will (shall) dispose of you the second they obtain real power?

Perhaps the Democrats need the "feminin men" vote? or the
Mr. Mom vote
or
No visitation Dad vote
or
still alive after waking up after the 60's man vote
or
Still married after 20 years to the mother of my children voter
or
I don't cheat on my wife man
or
I believe in god and go to church/temple man
or
I love the USA man
or
My taxes are too high and government too big man
or
Breadwinner man
etc.

(sarcasm off)

office park dad

What kind of 'men' can the demoncrats attract? Neutered males who don't know how to use power tools? How many of these types aren't already demoncrats?

This is bordering on amusing desperation on the part of the democratic party.

It will arrive to the point where any "real man" would be embarrased to be a democrat. (his wife made him be a democrat)

Soccer moms haven't wised up. If they had, they wouldn't be soccer moms. They're just fickle. This office park dad thing is a hoot. Forget the insult to their intelligence, most guys I know will consider this a slur on their manhood. Sheesh. The Dems must have a political deathwish.

Democrats will appeal to many in the following categories (YMMV):
Gay Friend of Dorothy men
Old grumpy Jewish/Latino/Black Men who were indoctrinated to vote Dem: Over 50 in general with some notable and remarkable exceptions (not including Cubanos)
Red Diaper Babies (barf)
Unitarian Universalist and other kumbaya singing men
Drugs ate my brain men
