As a born Louisianan who would love to see Landrieu sent home for good, I presently cannot help you because I live in California (but looking for a way out).
I know Louisiana politics extremely well and I can tell you that Louisiana has not had a credible Republican challenger for the senate for over a century. Why is that?
Maybe because Louisiana Republicans tend to take their advice from the RNC instead of listening to the people in Louisiana. The only viable state-wide Republicans run for governor not the senate.
That I will concur with -- the saying that "All Politics is Local" needs to be hammered home and the State parties need to become more forceful in making sure that very good Republican candidates are on the ballot for National offices in their state as well as State and local offices. Believe we have the better message -- now we need the candidates to hammer it home!
Used to live in SoCal (Yucaipa) when California was Republican and before the days of unleashed immigration. Good Luck out there and hope you can return to LA someday to help elect some Republicans and end the reign of the Democat Senators for LA!
I live in Louisiana now. I don't think Landrieu is going to have it as easy as some think. President Bush is VERY popular in Louisiana, and many people are seeing Congress, esp the Senate, as a bunch of do nothing obstructionists.
