The simple fact is that chiropractors are not often trained in either the scientific process, microbiologic theory, pharmaceuticals, nor human anatomy. ?

well - here is a list of typical chiropractic courses, in addition to undergraduate pre-requisite courses, that are needed to earn a Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) degree.
In addition, a Doctor of Chiropractic must take and pass four parts of his/her standardized National Boards tests.
