[history]
August 19, 2002 -- While there has been much scrutiny of the relationship between Enron and the Bush administration, the embattled energy company's influence in the White House dates back to the Clinton years, a new report says.
The Clinton White House asked for Enron's input into a 1995 plan to increase cash flow and credit of opportunities for energy producers - and then altered its draft report to accommodate Enron's advice, according to documents obtained by Time magazine.

Another reason to not subscribe to "Slime". They can't obtain any "real news" and the news that they due obtain is already several years old and was posted ad nausium on this forum. Anyone who had a subscription to Time, please donate it to Free Republic. Its far more cutting edge than this liberal rag!

BINGO!!!
Many of us long ago googled "O'Leary, Enron", "Rubin, Enron" and discovered for ourselves, the Clinton-Enron connection.
The real crime, (over and above corporate greed), is Janet Reno's malfeasance.

The Clinton-Loral connection was far more serious than the Clinton-Enron debacle. This is where Janet really screwed the pooch.

The Repubs need to demand a full investigation of Enron, and keep screaming for it until they get it.
A full investigation will have key Clintonists in handcuffs, which is fitting and proper.
It is the Demos who have carried the water for Enron over the past decade, not the Repubs, and they should not be allowed to avoid blame simply by throwing mud.
The press will not do our work for us, but they will not be able to avoid the story when the Justice department starts indicting people.
Do it and do it soon.

You're mighty right, but of course Loral can't be twisted into a political weapon to use against President Bush, so the media isn't interested.

lucianne.com notes this morning how Time buried this story in its business section.

This article was published for a single reason: When critics complain that the magazine has not gone after the Democrats Time editors can point to this stale, laughable piece as a counterbalance.
