OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (IslamOnline & News Agencies) - Suffering under the Israeli occupation and curfew that led to a falling economy in the Palestinian territories, a Palestinian father of seven from Rafah published an advertisement in the paper offering his children for sale or adoption because he could no longer feed them.
Palestinian children suffer under a deteriorating economy under the Israeli occupation
The man was forced by his family and the Palestinian Authority (PA) to publish an apology in a Palestinian newspaper on Wednesday, August 21, reported the Jerusalem Post.
Ahmed Dahir, 44, published the front-page advertisement, entitled Children for sale or adoption, in Al-Hayat al-Jadeedah earlier this week.
Thousands of unemployed Palestinians have been staging demonstrations outside PA ministries in the Gaza Strip to protest the economic crisis.
The Israeli reoccupation of the Palestinian cities, along with the Israeli government decisions to freeze Palestinian money have left the Palestinians in a financial, as well as humanitarian crisis.
The ages of the children on sale ranged between 18 months and 13 years. People have the right to live, even under occupation, Dahir explained. I see no other way out of the crisis but to sell my children so they can go on living.
Fatah governor Majiud al-Agha, said Dahir had received aid from different organizations. We are helping the poor families who are suffering as a result of the continued Israeli military closure, he said.
Under pressure from the PA, Dahirs family was forced to disown him in public and denounce his attempt to sell his children.
A family representative, Mussa Dahir, told The Jerusalem Post that the father is mentally disturbed. He has received a lot of assistance, especially from the PA and charitable and governmental organizations operating in Rafah.
A recent World Bank report said that Israels closure of Palestinian territories and its crackdown on the Palestinian intifida against Israeli occupation have left the Palestinian economy near total collapse.
According to the report, unemployment has tripled, to almost one-third of the workforce. Real incomes have fallen by almost 30 percent, and are now lower than they were in the late 1980s.
The proportion of the poor (those consuming less than two dollars per day) has doubled, to almost a half of the population of the West Bank and Gaza. The share of the Palestinian population living below the poverty line is estimated at almost 50 percent, double what it was in late 2000.

Somehow they manage to get guns and bombs, but they can't get food? That's strange.

Hmmmmmm, I'd guess blowing up Israelis wasn't such a good idea after all.

It is so hard for me to work up any sympathy for palestinians, or any other muslims in that region. I have a feeling this is nothing more than a media stunt, designed to tug on the heartstrings of sympathetic liberals in this country. It is also designed to blame Israel, once again, for their woes.

Many people feel forced to give their children up for adoption worldwide. This is not news and certainly, although it is tragic, not that unusual given the dire circumstances of so many, including some of those who live in the United States of America....
But, I agree. Arafat sits with his billion dollars and his people starve. Go figure!

These junior bombers may have some utility yet; mining companies should adopt them for exploration in remote areas where heavy equipent can't tread... strap 'em up and look for gold, diamonds, gas or coal....ect....

I don't see Palestinian children anymore... only potential lethal weapons.

Let's see, Arafat has $1.3 billion of their money in his personal account and king Faud is spending $6.0 million each day on his Spanish vacation. I don't know why someone is not letting these people know what dupes they are.

Do you think they would object to selling Jihad Johnny to a good Christian American home with the Bible as the main source for living?
To: blam
I just had a great idea. A Christian Adoption Agency which allows Christian parents with the financial means to do so to adopt Palestinian children....
hmmmmm.

Meanwhile, Arafat is a billionaire.

The various conglomerations of islamist arabs that make up this so-called "palestinian" population have long had, and will again soon have the opportunity to "democratize" and secularize their "society".
But they won't. So then what are Israel and we going to do?

I think Pali children are genetically programmed with a lust for Judeo-Christian blood.

I think all children are genetically programmed to be children who want love, care, recognition, etc.
Children become what they are taught by and large.
Ironically, we have, in this country, a rather tough stance on what is commonly considered "child abuse" and asking children to kill themselves, in my most humble opinion, is a gruesome and ghastly form of such abuse....

Here's what the father should do. Have one of the kids sign up as a suicide bomber & once completed he will receive thousands from the Saudis/Iraq. This way he can feed the remainder of his family.

How much for the little girl on the left? [ducks and runs]

We can hope that he soon will be a dead billonaire, but only after becomming helpless with his buddies wiping the drool off his face and changing his soiled diaper.
Only then would it be acceptable to flush the toilet and rid the world of another turd.
