TEL AVIV, Aug. 23 (Friday) -- Prime Minister Ariel Sharon has postponed his trip to the United States set for next month, a senior Israeli official said today.

Sharon was to visit Florida on Sept. 9, one day before a primary election for the Democratic candidate for governor. Some Democrats said Sharon's presence could boost incumbent Republican Gov. Jeb Bush, the president's brother.

The Israeli official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Florida politics had nothing to do with the decision to delay the trip. He said domestic issues arose that required Sharon's presence in Israel, mentioning security and the state budget as examples.

Dems blew it, big time. The postponement of Prime Minister Sharon's visit will be read in the Jewish community as a reaction to Democrat complaints.

Bottom line: Republicans win, either way. =^)

Yes. And who cares about the democratic primary? Sharon wants to come in November when the votes really count, and that is when he will do the most good. He should come to Florida again in early Nov of 2004. It's payback time for Clinton, Carville and the DNC for messing with Bibi's election.

I agree. They're running scared.

If Jews and Hispanics continue to break to the GOP (54% of Hispanics would vote for Bush in the latest poll I saw elsewhere), the Dems are toast.

Now, if Dubya will just go on Howard Stern's show...
