Global Crossing--forgotten by the media!

Major strategic communications links between the US and Europe, Asia and Latin America, have been taken over by a company associated with Communist China, according to NewsMax.com. This is the latest fallout from the failure of the Global Crossing (GC) Corporation, the 4th largest bankruptcy in history, which enriched many Democrat insiders while destroying the financial lives of thousands of employees and shareholders. GC controls 15% of fiber-optic networks that connect the US with Europe; 23% of those to Asia, and about 25% with Latin America. Chinese industrialist Li Ka-Shing, who now controls the ports on either side of the Panama Canal--and thus controls who and what will transit the canal--bought out GC and acquired the strategic communications lines. Li had $1.2 billion invested in GC as part of a joint venture for communications links with Hong Kong. He, and his communist allies, will now have a controlling interest in GC, and the power to sever strategic world communications lines for their own purposes.

Clinton insider and head fundraiser Terry McAuliffe, who was hand-picked by Clinton to be Chairman of the Democratic National Committee (DNC), made $18 million from a $100,000 investment in GC by selling out before the financial scandal at GC was disclosed. Was this business failure and reacquisition part of the Clinton-Gore “strategic partnership” with China? GC also contributed $3.5 million to Democrats, and was the fifth highest donor to the DNC in the 2000 election season, according to legal watchdog group Judicial Watch (www.JudicialWatch.org). McAuliffe, also sat on the board of Telergy, another failed telecommunications corporation. Wasn’t this a conflict of interest, and Isn’t some sort of pattern emerging here?

To make matters worse, again according to Judicial Watch, McAuliffe did “political work” for GC CEO Gary Winnick. This work included golf dates between Winnick and Bill Clinton. Winnick gave a million dollars to Clinton’s presidential library. Did Winnick and GC receive anything in return? Was a Defense Department contract involved? The Associated Press reported that former Clinton-Gore Defense Secretary William Cohen, sat on the board of the communications giant, but the story failed to note that Cohen may be involved in a $450 million conflict of interest. The Washington Dispatch publication notes that Global Crossing was hired “to provide the Defense Department with fast internet services connecting laboratories and other research locations around the country”...and the deal... “was initially approved under Clinton”...while Cohen was SecDef. Due to the questionable nature of the DOD-GC contract bidding process, suits were brought by competing contractors. This led to the Bush Administration canceling the deal. This situation has the same smell as the sweetheart deals between Enron and Clinton-Gore, wherein US taxpayer guarantees were promised to prop up the energy giant--possibly in return for donations to the DNC. When the Bush Administration withdrew the promised taxpayer giveaways, Enron collapsed. Now, Judicial Watch has filed a suit against McAuliffe, Cohen and Li to recover funds from former GC investors.

GC also paid Anne Bingaman, a Justice Department anti-trust lawyer, and wife of Democrat Senator Jeff Bingaman, $2.5 million in lobbying fees for six months work--ensuring GC would pass anti-trust muster with its patented undersea cable enterprise, Judicial Watch reports. Even more surprisingly, the darling of the media, Senator John McCain, Arizona Republican, raked in more GC money than anyone in the Congress--a total of $31,000 in March 1999. So why is Enron a front page story while GC languishes in the last section of the newspaper? Clinton-Gore fatigue again?--or liberal insider protection?

Jeff Bingaman's Bingaman Commission to Beijing and other Asian capitals seated Charlie Yah Lin Trie as a quid pro quo for Trie's funneling roughly a half million in dirty money to Clinton fronts in the 96 cycle.

Trie served as PRC mouthpiece in his "Dear President" letter during the Taiwan Strait PRC acting out.

Anne Bingaman was the Reno hatchet to destroy Bill Gates pre-GC lobbying, doubtless a twofer to favor Netscape et al Clinton donors, and to cripple the U.S. techno sector in particular and the economy in general.

Appreciate the info... you know, there's a goldmine of information available on the web for those willing to look a little. Why these lazy so-called "reporters" and "investigative journalists" can't do what any of us here do is beyond me.

Doubt that many folks saw it, but Brokaw did an hour on Global Crossing a couple of weeks ago on NBC "Dateline".

Funny thing about it though, was that at NO TIME during that entire hour was the name "Terry McAuliffe" ever mentioned.

Just an oversight, I'm sure.
