According to this guy's logic, a chickenhawk is anyone who has not been awarded a CMOH but still insists that the country to defend itself.

Ok let's apply this standard across the board to everyone. If you're not a doctor, you can't comment on healthcare legislation. If you're not a teacher you can't comment on education. If you're not an astronaut you can't comment about NASA. If your ...... etc. etc. etc.

After I make a mess like this, I flush it.

Some people have to much time on their hands and they should get over it.
Of course, I don't see FDR listed or that noted captain of the No Go's Truman or maybe McNamara should be listed.

There is a far less savory connotation of the word chickenhawk. In gay parlance it refers to a male homosexual who prefers inexperienced pubescent partners.
A lot of Catholic priests have lately been found to be devout chickenhawks.

When the topic of clintons draft dodging came up, one of his sycophants (may even have been hillary) was quoted as saying "America's best and brightest did not go to Viet Nam."
I believe that quote was a topic of discussion here at FR.
Whats sauce for the goose......

If you're not a priest, you can't comment on the Catholic Church!

That's NOT what "chickenhawk" means.
A chickenhawk "datebase" would be a school for troubled boys where old men can visit and pick them up....

Ummm Truman served in France in the First World War as an artillery officer.

These idiots seem to have omitted President John Adams who never served in uniform but still had the nerve to advocate independence from Great Britain. I haven't studied James Madison's life in any detail, but I'm not aware that he ever served in uniform. I've heard that Thomas Jefferson had a rank in the Virginia militia, but I've never heard of him actually fighting. Amazingly, he still wrote the Declaration of Independence. Of course, I'm not surprised that liberals would enjoy calling our Founding Fathers names, liberals are the type who would have urged furher subservience to Great Britain.
The fact is that we haven't had a prolonged war for close to thirty years. I'm 38, and when I was service age, no one promoted the military as a duty. I spoke to a National Guard recruiter at a campus job fair once, and all he talked about was scholarship money. I already had a co-op job that was allowing me to earn enough to finish college. If the military was just another career opportunity, I figured that I'd leave it for those who had greater needs than I did.
The other problem that these liberals have is that Republican uses of power for the past thirty years have been short and successful. They can't stand the fact that when Republicans have advocated the use of power and used it without liberal interference, America has won quickly and decisively. These people hate to see a strong America, and they are just seeking a way to diminish the value of our victories. They also want to distract people from the fact that liberals cannot be trusted to keep Americans safe. If most people really think about it, they'd want conservatives in charge during dangerous times. Whether those conservatives have served or not, conservatives understand protecting Americans against foreign enemies. In order to stay in power, the liberals must make people forget this fact.

I might say more, but I have a feeling that this thread will be pulled soon.

That would have been the lesbian military expert Donna Shalala.

Seems to me that the guy who passed this through his bowels needs to seek professional help. And soon.

This is just another Democrat preaching to the choir. The absence of any Democrats from the Chickenhawk list shows just how intellectually dishonest this guy is.

Completely inaccurate. Truman was in the NG, but was called to active duty (being overage at the time, he DIDN'T HAVE TO GO but did anyway). He commanded a battery in France, seeing heavy combat. The following link provides greater detail. Some people here may not agree with Truman's politics, but he was a patriot and did his duty.

Incidentally, Abraham Lincoln was inducted into US Army Ranger Hall of Fame, so apparently whatever he did was enough for the Rangers to claim him as one of their own.
Some may think otherwise here, but it's possible for someone to have political beliefs other than what are popular on FR, and still love and serve this country.

The usual lies about Ronald Reagan. President Reagan served in the Army Reserves in the early 1930s when virtually no one else wanted to and no one had to and he had 20/400 eyesight. During WW2, he was an officer in an Army film unit, which fit his background and which was about all he could do with his eyesight. "President" Clinton and Robert McNamara's son Craig aren't on your list, are they?

I also didn't see Joe Namath ("bad knees" but not bad enough to keep him from playing in the 1969 Super Bowl and a tie-in with Sonny Werblin who had political connections to buy him a deferment); Cassius Clay, aka Muhammad Ali, who made a living from violence and hate; Joe Lieberman; Jackson, the former coach of the Chicago Bulls (too busy with basketball to be trifled with military service); and a host of other professional sports figures.
