JAY AMBROSE: Extremely good news
Scripps Howard News Service
Democratic Rep. Cynthia McKinney has been perhaps the most extreme member of the House of Representatives, and so it is extremely gratifying that she has lost a Georgia primary with just 42 percent of the vote compared to the 58 percent garnered by her opponent.
McKinney's polarizing, anger-filled, conspiracy-minded politics reached maybe its lowest point when she said one fine day that President Bush may well have known that the Sept. 11 attacks were coming but kept quiet in order to benefit his corporate friends who would make a killing off a war on terrorism.
This is not just laughable goofiness. This is hateful goofiness.
The victor in this race was Denise Majette, also a black woman and someone with excellent credentials - she is a state judge who graduated from Yale. She may have benefited from Republican crossover votes, but there were not enough to have given her the election, according to one analysis. What mainly seems the case is that McKinney's wackiness caught up with her.

Not a good thing that outside money and crossover voters affect the race, imo. Let's remember not to complain when it reverses in other races.

She took money from the enemy in a time of war.
She made unproven accusations against the POTUS, when he enjoyed a 70-80% approval rating, in an attempt to destroy his popularity.
She deserved to be destroyed, no matter what her party affiliation.
In most countries, she wouldn't even be alive right now.

I noticed Bush has opposed every attempt at investigating our failures, but since his approval rating was 70% we aren't supposed to try? What was klintoons approval rating while we did Whitewater, 70% or so?
She would be dead in most other countries? You think you are doing political opponents a favor by letting them live?
Some American you are.

This was no "investigation". No attempt was made to arrive at the truth. This was a smear campaign, based on a twisted lie.
And no, I don't advocate death for political opponents, I merely point out that attacking your country's leader with malice and without a shred of proof will earn death in some parts of the world.

The sad part is that this ignorant turd was elected in the first place. I wouldn't hire her to flip burgers at a jack in the box.She and many others of her ilk have no qualifications for the important jobs they hold. What the heck is wrong with voters anyway?
It will be interesting to see what type of job she lands now. Also fun to see if she can still garner support from muslims or any other silly group. Maybe arab muslims will pay her rediculous sums to have her be a spokesperson.
Now you have to hope her father loses his race in Georgia also. Time to send a message that being anti American just isn't the current thing right now. Hear that little tommy dashole?

And I say this as someone who is no friend whatsoever of many Bush policies. McKinney is a whack-job who would be lucky to be alive in the majority of the world's countries. That ain't "doing her a favor", it's simply an observation of fact, that's all.

Cynthia's father, Billy, will lose his race in the run-off. Although he received 48% of the vote, his hard-core urban supporters will not come back to vote in the run-off.

It happened to Bush in the New Hampshire primary when the dems crossed over to vote for McCain. So what goes around comes around.

Not a good thing but inevitable and unstoppable. We're the premier world power. Our decisions affect everyone. Thus everyone will try to influence those decisions.

"It happened to Bush in the New Hampshire primary when the dems crossed over to vote for McCain."
Not entirely accurate, actually. Dems are not allowed to vote in the NH Republican primary (unlike Georgia). Independents were allowed to choose between the Republican and Democratic ballots, however. That's where McCain got much of his support.

Thank you, I stand corrected. However the labels may have been different, but when the can was opened the contents smelled very alike.
