Every woman is told that she can have all the financial benifits of having a working husband without having to actually have one. The government will happily extract everything from him for her. I believe that was a big part of Clinton's appeal to the 'soccer moms'. He promised them he ( the government) was going to be the surrogate husband and take care of them.
This article is right on the money. It not only applys to Blacks, but white kids today.
The problem is that now the late teens ( and early ones too) have grown up under this situation and are having their own babies.
Breaking the cycle is going to be a monumental task.

AAahhh the good old days...when people understood the word "SHAME", and how their ACTIONS affected the family and community...in the good old days poor moral actions had consequences.

Whoah!!! This gentleman stated the problem better than any of us could. He raises a good question: Was the destruction of the Black American family by the welfare state intentional? Knowing the power-crazed elites who run the DemonRat Party today, I'd say the answer is yes.

Thank you.
Your post #35 made my day. I had been thinking along the same lines, that we need to somehow 'fit in' with society, go with the flow, and be labelled.
What a world and country it would be if we all took Jesus Christ as our guide and stood strong against human respect.
Your post inspired me to harden my will to keep striving to achieve it.

"Take the example of abortion. Did you know that 40 percent of all abortions are black babies? Have we benefited from this genocide? Abortion is promoted by the same liberals who perpetuate the stupid notion that a government with more money (read: higher taxes), more power and more control can better address our problems."
I've been waiting for someone to pick up on this one. What would someone who really despised blacks do to reduce their numbers? The founders of the abortion industry, such as Margaret Sanger of Planned Parenthood, made no secret of their desire to eliminate the black, poor, and unfit. There are current data of more than passing interest. The U.S. census has now revealed that Hispanics have displaced African Americans as the nation's largest minority. That would not be the case were it not for abortion. Black women are 13.5 percent of the female population but have 34
percent of all abortions, their abortion rate (31 per 1,000 women) being 2.6 times the rate for white women (12 per 1,000). The best estimate is that 546,000 black children are killed each year, or about 15 million since Roe v. Wade in 1973. Yet, black leaders continue to embrace the liberal left, swapping spit and handshakes, as if they are all on the same page. Farrakhan, Jackson, Kennedy, Davis, Clinton, et. al., use blacks to make money for themselves and pursue their own hidden agendas. When will people learn that the liberal left absolutely despises the people it purports to serve?

Kudos. There was a book written ("Myths That Divide Us", by John Perazzo) that documented that black-white relations are sabotaged by demagogues who mischaracterize our country as racist. Perazzo demonstrates that the most serious social and economic problems currently afflicting black Americans are not due to societal racism but to issues within the black community. For example, countless studies show that fatherlessness, not race, is by far the most accurate predictor that a child will end up in poverty or in prison. And today about 70 percent of black children are born into fatherless homes. And, ever since 1981, black families with two college educated, working adults have earned more than similar white families in every age group and in every region of the United States. As early as 1970, black two-parent families outside of the South were already earning more than comparable white families.

. Not that any Harvard/Yale/Berkley type sociologist type would care or even study it, but the same is happening to white lower class/ working class. White girls with no prospect except a working white guy, will be safer, have better health care, etc with the state. In my experience this is the "norm" up to the skilled trades. The fact that both working stiff couples are taxed directly and indirectly at a rate of 70% is unapparent to these people. Hence the paycheck to paycheck without building up equity. On the other side, immigrant families seem to make it. Work, thrift, avoidance of abusive and expensive habits. Frankly, we should just cut it all off. The screaming would be fierce for years, but it would be better.

Wow, great article. I always have said that 40 years of welfare did what 200 years of slavery couldn't do - destroy the black nuclear family. Guess I was wrong - it was 10 years.
Keep up writing the truth.

...what's the name and fax number for that "Slap Whitey" councilman from N.Y.?
I think I'll fax a copy to Ms Sheila Jackson Lee!!!
And what's the fax number to the Congressional Black Caucus?
..maybe re-printed(with permission) as a RNC ad before the November elections.
But we know the RNC and what's-his-name are cowards and wimps.

Good point(s)! I teach African American History - this thread may well become required reading.

This is truly chilling, right to the bone. Unfortunately, none of the "mainstream" (read Liberal) media bothers to report such statistics or facts. Nor will you read any of this in JET, EBONY, ESSENCE (A 'Woman's' magazine), VIBE, or even THE NEW CRISIS. What you will continuously read, however, are articles and pictorial spreads of a Black celebrity or sports figure's love life, home, or how great their latest film, television or music project is, when in truth the thing is a dud. You'll also read how the (Bush) Administration consistently short-changes the African-American population, because "leaders" like Jesse, Al or Charles Olgeltree say so, therefore it MUST be true. You'll probably also read how we must never trust those among our race who don't accept this nonsense as gospel, that they are either "sleeping with the enemy" or have "forgotten about the struggle".
Oh yes, this is the usual pablum that Blacks are fed on a weekly and monthly basis by our press corps. And BECAUSE they print it, it MUST be true.
Thanks for the stats.

I had never heard of Project 21...
...but then, as I just found out, is a CONSERVATIVE Black organization.
...not a liberal Democratic organization like the Congressional Black Caucus that gets all the media attention it wants!
To: TexasCajun
Of course you'll never hear of such things in the 'RAT media; any positive response to conservatism by Blacks is virtually unheard of.
That's why it's good to come to FR.

I think it became a perjorative gradually: Royal bastards were often a problem in matters of succession. (Queen Elizabeth 1st had been declared a "bastard" after her mother was beheaded. It was complicated: don't ask ! )
The Noblemen of France and England were apt to be quite democratic about sowing their "seed", and there were often revolutions based on dissatisfied barons pledging loyalty to one royal bastard or another.
Incidentally, one of my children ( I forget which one ) was legally a "bastard" until adoption. Perhaps this explains why I am a bit sensitive about the term...
